and looks at it with a straight faceDon't you ever dare have the ****ing audacity of thinking you and your Project M flunkies know how Sonic should ever be played.
Especially not to me.
so much generalization in 7 words, I can't even-they are worse than angry melee players
lol sorry, but i left my last comment on that thread, you can go read it if you wantso much generalization in 7 words, I can't even-
...wat ?
I know when to sit back, d/wPersonally. I say drop it. It's not worth thinking about or being interested in. All your doing is drawing unwanted attention.
It's how I responded to melee purists for a long time. Gotta be fair to both communities.Okay so I read that, and read SB's post a little ways below
SB why would you do that. Why would you not treat them the same way you treat melee purists who complain nonsensically about the game for equally stupid reasons. You were all nice and understanding about that guy's complaints. He doesn't deserve anymore respect in response to his "Sonic:M sucks because it's not Brawl Sonic" than anyone that complains that "Project:M sucks because it's not Melee". I don't know why but it's legitimately upsetting that you legitimately weren't upset.
What I asked is why you responded nicely to him. That's not fair to the melee purists at all. Be mean to both plz, I enjoy watching people getting fanny flusteredIt's how I responded to melee purists for a long time. Gotta be fair to both communities.
I strongly agree with this post. Nevertheless, their rudeness that they give this game is a bit unsettling to be honest. We can't be condescending though. That just keeps people from understanding each other and joining the community. No matter how strong a gaming community is, it will either disappear or move over to a different game after a period of time. With that in mind, I don't think that the Smash community can afford losing members because of a divide between the subsets of a larger group. Smash, as a community, hasn't been this big since 2006, the last year Melee was played on the MLG circuit. Despite its current success, however, I fear that Smash is in a more precarious position than it appears. I feel that the release of Smash 4, when combined with the eventual retirement of today's biggest Melee stars, will seriously endanger the community as a whole, not just Melee players.
When both of these things happen, people will have three options: play Smash 4, continue to play Melee, or play PM. At the moment Smash 4 looks to be considerably better than Brawl was from a competitive standpoint. Because of this, I feel that most Brawl players, and a few Melee players, will move on to Smash 4. Almost no one will be getting in to Melee, and only a few will come in to PM. In order to withstand this dearth of new players, I think it's incredibly important that Melee and PM try to expand themselves as much as possible before Smash 4 comes out. Things like getting in to EVO will only be useful as long as the Melee community takes advantage of it.
Maintaining this split between Brawl, PM, and Melee is not going to be healthy in the long run, so I think it would be wise to take the high road when others complain about the game you love, regardless of which game you play.
The haters usually make the most noise. Other smashers have no reason to dislike project M, and those that do will likely be swayed by the release of Roy and Mewtwo.Does the Melee community hate us that much too? Cause I like all three communities equally, but admittedly I haven't spent the longest time in the other two as much PM.
My opinion, for what it's worth, is that the Melee community views PM as a viable alternative to Melee. They are fine with what they have, however, so they are not too excited in playing PM seriously. They are open-minded about PM as a whole, but not all that interested in it.Does the Melee community hate us that much too?
