I'm happy that Smash is getting some professional acknowledgement like Melee returning to MLG, but to be honest I don't really like it that much.

I don't like that the commentators have to check their language /cadence so much that everything they say becomes bland and corporate. I don't like the increased ad time. And I don't really like the... feel, the je ne sais quoi of these tournaments. It's too sterile. It's hard to put into words but I have such a fondness for the raw, self-made, gritty environment of the old days (get off my lawn).

I DO like that it's exposing more people to Smash and the professional stream quality we're getting, but I'll always miss that underground feel it used to have. But like I said, I'm happy for Smash, really.

the reason the melee gods are called, well, the melee gods are because of their consistency. people can beat them, but those people don't win tournaments as often as the five gods do. leffen is the least consistent top player ever
