Speaking of YGO, are Darkness Metal Dragon decks still viable? I remember it getting limited but for unrelated reasons I stopped playing soon after.
Yeah kinda but your just better off running builds that can support it like Lightsworn Twilight builds, Hieratics or disaster dragons cause it's kinda splashable.

Kinda smart on your part in some way but that was when the game was simple. Now it's a cluster of nonsense of new mechanics and archtypes with rulings that makes your head spin. Only good thing that they did was buff some old archtypes like Harpies, Monarchs and Gravekeepers and got rid of priority.

Here's old super flip Goku.psa video I had when going through stuff http://youtu.be/RaKpi53S020

Also eventually I'm going to read all of this into a video like a podcast with a few pictures (and probably post the text itself into the description) but right now my throat hurts from practicing what I'd say.

I played yugioh when I was little. My strategy was get the coolest cards and hope I can summon stronger monsters than my opponent. Also, spam water tyles.

So are the Pokémon games to me these days, hearing people talk about the metagame makes me glad I don't bother with it.
I can respect that but it's honestly the most fun I have with the games nowadays and I can be social and meet new people along with it as well.

Konami has been sooooo close to making ballance archetypes, like they made contellars and evilswarms and madolches and (over) corrected the mistakes they made when they made Wind-ups and other silly archetypes like chaos agents and twilight dragons, that sort of stuff. I was really happy with the game for a while but then they MADE ****ING MERMAILS AND E-DRAGS LIKE WHAT THE ****ING **** were they thinking with those cards. They banned half of the e-dragons and limited the rest to One each and they are still a viable deck >.>
once E-drags took over for like 3 ban lists I quit and am recently getting back into it.

Konami is always right on the cusp of decent balance within the meta, like the newest decks Shadolls (fusions done right imo) and Artifacts(obscene control, monsters set themselves in the spell/trap and special summon + effect if they get destroyed on the opponent's turn) are really unique and almost done right, but then in the same sets they create cards like Number 101 (It steals the opponent's monster and makes it a material, and if its going to be destroys you just detach one) and Soul charge (Pay 1000x lifepoints, special summon x number of monsters from graveyard) that just cause people to win when they shouldn't have and just turn duels around. Idk its really fun and right now its in a Lull between nationals and the next set to come out so theres not much happening besides playtesting and locals.

Don't forget E-Dragons were cheap were they came out like rares and were kinda easy to get and when they got hit the babies got hit, Super Rejuvenation which was almost never used got banned, 7 swords got limited to 1 and Dragon Ravine got banned and pretty much killed the Dragunity archtype. And it's called money if you wanna compete you buy the new stuff and they use the forbidden list to push product. It's a good step at least cause they are losing players but I'll give it time before they bust out some crazy archtype on that level again.

So you folks in NYC Nintendo world center gets to try the smash 4 demo out for 5 days starting tuesday :( I hate being in Nebraska sometimes at least its better than South Dakota or some other state that no one gives a crap about for competitive video games.

In regards to the development of Mewtwo taking 600 hours; This quote is directed at the PMBR and if I could ask you to clarify, that would be great.

We're not exactly sure what XXX hours means though.

Is it total hours from start to finish, including non-productive time?
Is it total productive-time overall?
Is it total man-hours of productive time?

If it's the last, then you can at least divide that by how many people were working on it at a time.

Playing solitaire in a game that's meant to be played by two people is NOT amazing.
obviously you've never sat across from someone that took it personally.

my favorite strategy is to spam whatever has the highest win rate and to drink the tears of the people that refuse to play it for arbitrary and meaningless reasons.

Sounds to me like you winning is equivalent to having fun.

um, i dont HAVE to be winning, but winning is definitely more fun than losing. i think for me it's more like i want to play the "real game" if that makes sense, and playing the big boy strategies feels better imo.

idk no one plays melee for donkey kong. does that make sense?

It makes sense, but since you said choosing the "highest" win ratio, it makes me feel like you're going for the win mostly.

When given a situation where I have any choice, I'd be more likely to choose something that has a high win ratio, but is also the most fun for me to use. If that makes any sense.

i used to be that way until i realized that the stuff that wins usually also has the best options/flexibility/dynamic to it and ends up being the most fun anyway. as long as the game is well balanced anyway.
