IMO costumes should only be costumes, and not skins of completely different characters. At that point it'd just get silly and feel like an over-saturated hack. Colors based on other characters are still fine (like Luigi's purple outfit).

From the silhouettes this seems to be the case, but I expect most requests would go in the other direction.

Yeah, I'm concerned with Mega Lucario's and Mega Charizard's chances of getting in. Lord Ike would be an obviously feasible and desirable costume.

I agree with this, with the exception of alternate versions of characters, like OOT Link, OOT Young Link and OOT Ganondorf

I'm curious... what's the giant difference between the regular costume hacks and alternate costumes if you're going to intend to just texture the character (like FE13 Roy could just be put over Roy in a different costume. In Awakening, he looks like a total Hero, but he'd play the same way, right?) I'm just clarifying here, because I'm totally confused.

But imagine PM adds all the SSB4 characters and stages as they're released. That would be hilarious.
