Everyone is a burden once in a while - I've been there, more than once. Nothing to do about it but try your best to get through it.

and cmon it's not that scammy or jank, especially when you consider it's a kMMO
I've only played/still playing one other Korean MMO (Vindictus) and in that MMO, I'm near the top echelon of the game and I've only bought cosmetics because I like looking pretty.

Sure that game has it's fair share of problems as well, mostly bad communication between the players and the people running the game, and god awful drop rates for rare materials, but at least I don't feel limited at all gameplay and lookwise by being a free to play player.

However, for elsword's case, I feel severely limited by being a free to play player.
I think the B slot being locked behind a paywall is the worst thing ever. (For those of you that don't know, essentially the B slot is another set of 4 skills that you can have equipped at one time)
SURE it wasn't originally there, but just because you add a feature, doesn't mean it should be paid for, especially when it makes a significant difference in both PvP and PvE.

The best way to describe it would be for a Smash 4 tournament to be held, and one person get access to equipment by paying an extra $9 while the other character has to play base. It ain't fair. It's not like it's impossible to win against, but it definitely ain't fair.

Elsword is REALLY lucky I like it's pvp, or I'd drop it faster than I'd drop a set against Mango.

Edit: Wait I'm a liar, I played Tera as well.
I have no opinions on it really.

I enjoyed it, I'd of liked to keep playing, but my computer couldn't handle the level 36+ areas.

More like paying $9 to use customs but yeah it's dumb

Speaking of MMOs have any of you heard of grand chase?

Like, it's probably the most interesting MMO to me right now and I haven't even played it yet.

It's shutting down in april, but they decided to give everyone 1,000,000 cash shop points, which if I'm correct equates to $100,000 dollars worth of cash shop items.

I want to start playing that, just so I can see what it's like to be a rich player.

Damn son, your shake sound like a ****in gourmet meal. I'm usually stuck with chocolate whey and whole milk/water.
My routine is the typical bro split, but I'm kinda considering trying an upper lower routine though. Dunno if I could commit to doing squats + deadlifts 3 times a week on the same day no less.
I add the egg and PB for extra protein. The banana because it's good for you post-workout: "While we're on the subject of post-workout nutrition, you should consider including a source of potassium in your post-workout cocktail. Your potassium reserves will inevitably be sapped from an intense workout session. Potassium, among other nutrients like sodium and calcium, is a key mineral which plays a role in muscular energy. Bananas or potatoes are good potassium sources. Bananas go with nearly everything, but mashed potatoes in your first meal following the workout are also winners."

You can do it brah.

And with that, I am now convinced that you are the parent of the Wii Fit Trainers. You're certainly grey enough to be.

My mom is literally saying she can beat me because I've never played street fighter, nor have I used an arcade stick.
However, on the flip side, she hasn't played it in over 20 years, but she argues that she was "Whoopin ***" back in the day against all the good players. (Notion of whats good and whats mediocre can be blurred when you only play mediocre)
I'd 3s your mom, tell her to get Supercade

How can you talk about how everyone needs to support+build their local community and then not go to a PM major an hour away from where you live

Screw Starcraft man
It's like my side job, and I committed to it before I knew McSmashter dates :\

AND BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT, LET ME DECIDE TO RANT ABOUT VINDICTUS FOR A LITTLE BIT.

The problems with Vindictus aren't even as significant as many other MMOs.

In fact, I'd say the biggest problem with this game is underpopulation and that's due more to the game company's incompetence as opposed to anything in the game.

Color coded because it's a lot of text.

  1. They went on super extended content droughts, when we should of had the content reasonably 3 months before it finally arrived.
  2. There was a large hackwave, and the company apparently didn't think it was urgent to get the security code system in place to stop it. And It was definitely significant because right when we DID get it, all the daily "I got hacked" threads stopped popping up.
  3. On top of that, Almost NO ONE was compensated for the loss of their items, both cash shop and normal gear.
  4. Plenty of people who got hacked quit because of this, but as a chain reaction, many of their friends quit because their friends quit, or because they got fed up with the management after that.
  5. Peer 2 Peer Connection. The missions aren't hosted by the company, but by the player. This leads to many problems because people with weak internet cannot host missions that require many players, and thanks to that as well, they had to split the game into two seperate servers (East and West). Essentially cutting the potential population in half.
  6. The above is a significant problem because of attack requirement boats. It's essentially the gear checks of other games. The difference is that in this game, having weaker gear just means the mission will probably take a bit longer, as opposed to not being possible at all. But because of peer2peer, only those with strong internet can host, and a lot of them like to put requirements that are very hard for people who want to play really casually to hit. I can't even stress enough how big a problem the peer2peer hosting is in this game. There can be no missions on the board for endgame raids for 20 minutes or so, but right as soon as one pops up it will fill practically instantly, even with obscenely high attack requirements.
  7. The gearing process gets comparably more difficult at endgame as opposed to early game. This turns off a lot of players because you can get from 1-70 in relatively no time at all (maybe 2-4 weeks of casual play) and get gear for all of those levels without too much effort aside from level 70 stuff (which only the weapon matters because the armor can be outdone by well made 60 armor). However, the stuff for level 80 becomes significantly harder to get. To compare, getting a 60 weapon may cost about 500k-5m gold depending on character and weapon type. A 70 weapon may cost 12m-20m to get based on those same factors. All of these weapons can be farmed out though. A level 80 weapon however, cannot be farmed reasonably and will cost an upwards of 130m to make.
  8. This goes back to the attack requirement boats because most people can't hit the current requirements unless they have level 80 weapons, or they are one of the characters that have an easier time getting attack [Hurk, Karok (With Battle Fist), Evie, Fiona (With hammer) ]
A update that is already in the works is going to be fixing most of the issues, since they are getting ready to move into the 90 gear tier, but seem to be focusing the new missions on skill like they did in the olden days as opposed to gear check missions like most of the current endgame stuff.

Nonetheless, I won't recommend this game to you until that update I mentioned hits the servers, because right now you will have few people to play with (low levels seem to be heavily unpopulated) and because when that update hits, getting 80 gear will be a real breeze, while 90 gear will be the new difficult, but thanks to the focus on skill, not even near necessary.

Problems that exist on this game is that for some people there isn't enough content. Understandable, but the game has a lot of skill involved so just experiencing the content shouldn't be enough, but for some people it is.

Another problem is the horrible drop rates for rare materials. Those are the big money.

You can definitely make a very good amount by farming out relatively common, but necessary drops, but it just seems like no one has the motivation to farm in this game.

---------------

Again, I should stress the fact that many of the current endgame bosses can be beat just by using skill, but they take a bit more time with less attack.

It also plays a big factor that not very many people are that good at this game so raids tend to take a bit when people don't have big numbers to carry them. If you've got a skilled group though, you can down a boss with players all with 14k attack faster than less skilled players with 16k attack

Current numbers that are reasonably reachable by every character in the game
(14k for Lann, Fiona (With longsword), Karok (with pillar), Kai, Vella, Lynn, and Arisha)
(15k for Fiona (With Hammer), Karok (With battle fist), Hurk)

Current common attack requirement boats
16k
17k
18k for the most current content.

Bananas are hella good for you and sooo tasty. I rave about them all the time, so much so that a couple of chicks I knew gave me a birthday cake a couple of years ago that looked like this:

Don't even get me started on potatoes.

Question for you though, what is your stance on pre-workout drinks? I have friends who swear by them, but I don't really notice a difference in energy/performance and feel like the extra caffiene is pointless.

Then it's settled, we shall commence the striking of thirds in a few days when I get free time and figure out if Supercade's server is gone and need to use one of the alternatives.

I can't get a feel for the size of this, mind posting another pic with a banana for scale?

That is what happens when you have the rat talisman and bring a store manikin to life.

I'm so proud of my little Clark and Diana. Their mother would be proud too if it was still alive and in possession of the rat talisman.

I LOVE bananas too. My friends like to rail me on that I'm a descendent of a monkey because of it.

I've been meaning to try introducing potatoes into my diet. What kind of dishes can you make with them?

Honestly, I don't see much to them. If I really need the energy, I'll make a coffee before I head out.

Melee vets always prefer melee singles to PM singles

In my experience melee players prefer PM doubles though

I think PM has the best doubles experience of any smash game

I would say it's in large part due to better stages to play doubles on

Also character variety adds a lot to doubles since it's actually a much simpler game than singles

Melee doubles is actually kind of boring unless the players are really good at passing

Fox doubles teams don't pass much they just shine spike people

There should be more doubles PM tournaments

Melee singles and PM doubles may be the perfect 2 event tournament IMO

Yeah a few of the people in my gaming center scene do this too. They don't take PM seriously themselves and don't enter singles in that, but they'll enter PM doubles with each other for the fun of it.

Another weird thing I found to be a phenomenon, although it's less perplexing now with Melee taking even more dominance, is I'll talk with a group of newer players chilling at the next door Pizza place by the Gaming center/Tournament and just hear time again that they play Melee and don't dabble with PM. And I never got or can remember any definitive answer as to why. I found it weird because a year or two ago newer players would generally love PM, but I guess this was the beginning of the change where the Smash Doc and such made them grow a devoted view (or moderate passion) to just Melee.

Generally ALL of the higher level players in the overall Chicago/Northern IL scene play Melee and PM almost equally though. It's just not that way for the people not making placings, one reason being they pry don't want to start losing money in both. At least in some of the lesser areas, at EXP gaming everyone almost seems to enter both.

Personally, well besides not having free time to go to much of anything in a while, I want to own mofos in Melee. Smash 4 I'm always debating of just stop playing entirely even when there's free entry for it (because its graphics melt your brain with evil and make you rusty especially when you try to play Diddy in PM; I have to convince myself even If I could make money easier on this game I don't want to play a game that overall sucks otherwise I'm no better than League players), and PM I really do need light press air dodge (as a custom control) or otherwise an entirely new modified triggers controller (the one I use for Melee is almost purely good for just Falco, it's super loose both in the control stick and triggers) so I can better play generally most of the cast (like in all my Combo videos which is light press using mostly my light press controller https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhJUOzWK05k&list=PLovBMkMLex7wTISMgGxSMBt7vcLpeX4Gs ). So until I get either of the two, I'm trying to own the Melee foos a little more than the PM right now. Oh, beyond the other reason being PM is still subject to change. I mean that never stopped me yet, but after all the changes each version already and they bring up possibly taking away the remaining AD cancels? Which again is like 1/5th of what my videos are about. I can't go full out trying to optimize myself on anything when it can be possibly completely reworked: and for the worst reasons to rework them. I mean Wolf's Blaster is supposedly a little more trouble-some in design, but Diddy's is perfect.

anyways here's a nice diddy combo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2zK9wRh1Fs

Can we take a minute to appreciate @「セガ」 | GHNeko 's PSO2 character?

That perfect shade of dark chocolate.
That contrasting red hair
THOSE ****ING GLASSES
that black lipstick
And that expression that just tells you that she has no idea what's going on in her library.

Also, it's hard as **** to tag you now @「セガ」 | GHNeko
