Can we all just agree that IP is dumb? It's ridiculous to think one can 'own' an idea, since ownership arises from the exclusivity that scarcity imparts, and people cannot be deprived of their ideas, thus there is no exclusivity and no right.
Or, at least, there's a lot of corruption and stupidity in intellectual property law.
Project M shouldn't be able to be C&D'd in the first place.

PM has really become a big part of my life, and indirectly gave me a lot of hope for my future. If the PM scene ever died... I would actually cry. I would cry a lot and I don't know if I could replace it.

Sorry to get in this discussion, but you are mixing two things up here.
Democracy doesn't necessarily equal general welfare, although it normally increases it. Populism and voters that don't know that much about the topics can lead to that disparity.
There are examples where the will of the people leads to a decrease in general welfare in the longrun (people often think short-term).

On the concrete topic, it is my personal opinion that IP laws go overboard in many areas, but if IP wasn't supported there would probably be less innovation because it would be the optimal strategy for companies to invest minimal in new innovation and snag the innovation of other companies. I could also play the devil's advocate and argue for harsh IP laws, but I don't want that now lol.

Now that there is a bit of simmering lull for the pm drama, but people's critical thinking muscles are still charged.... what do people think of pray to win vs play to win? I personally think the former takes away from the character and message, but I am unable to articulate my own reasons to myself.

Because there is an actual subforum for intelligent discussion. This is a social thread in which many many people **** post without having to worry about boring ass, serious topics.

Personally, I feel that glancing over those types of topics is fine, but only if EVERYONE is talking about it. That and I'd prefer for that type of **** to happen organically like most of our topic shifts.

But that's just me.

I agree with the corruption and stupidity part, and the laws seriously need revamped. But I wouldn't say that the concept of intellectual property wasn't needed at all. There's just currently not enough protection for nonprofit derivative works is the biggest issue I see.

I just don't like that attitude of complaining without suggesting alternatives and giving arguments for them. If one wants to change something, one needs to be able to do that. If one is not willing to suggest alternatives or at least give productive input, this takes away from the original complaint which should therefore not be taken seriously.
Also I think especially that is the reason why things are like they are in some aspects. You need to make the masses think about the subject, not those that already have an elaborate opinion, or a democracy will pick suboptimal decisions.

Therefore I think it is the right place to post such things.

Uhh... I'm pretty sure "pray to win" is literally just a joke. Like, aMSa said, "I play to win" but because of his accent it sounded like "I pray to win" and people picked it up and kind of made it his catchphrase as a joke.

Besides, 15-20% of the time is a respectable estimate, that's still the secondary only showing up every 2 or 3 sets, maybe not even needed in a winners/losers/grand finals. While I think Roy has what it takes to do big things, some matchups are ass for him and the smart thing to do is approach that specific matchup with a secondary. He can't do **** about Samus lol, I'm not just taking an easy loss by sitting back as Roy for that MU.
