For those who have ORAS right in the US now there is a slight glitch with the Serperior event going on right now and that US folks can grab the Serperior with Contrary early even though EU and AU was only suppose to get the event.. Just go to Mystery Gift and go to receive gift via code and type in Pokemon497 and you will get the poke. HURRY HURRY HURRY.

Too bad I didn't get ORAS. I really should, but I'm not.

Everyone is probably going to be playing an even newer Pokemon game by the time I get around to ORAS.

Yeah it's called the 3rd version to X/Y or they will do another Black and White 2 type thing. Understandable though.

Meanwhile, I just finished revisiting Mighty Switch Force. I forgot how much fun these games were. Still love me some Patty, too. <3

And then just to surprise and confuse everyone, neither of those things happen and they go straight to Gen 7. ¦D

ORAS straight up kind of sucks and I wouldn't have bought it if not for the new learnsets and megas

ORAS wasn't Emerald enough for me to fall in love with it like with HG/SS. No Juan and battle against teams Aqua and Magma makes me a sad guy.

I can't imagine serperior w/ contrary working very well in VGC meta, so probably not worth

But I don't really follow competitive pokemon anymore
more rng than I care for

@ standardtoaster standardtoaster You might be experiencing an unresolved issue my friend had. He'd get metric **** tons of lag in dolphin but not with any other gaming software on his comp.
If you're experiencing any more than unnoticable delay with a friend 3 hours away, chances are
1: you did something wrong, maybe you forgot to turn down the buffer (i believe it defaults at 20) to ping (ms)/16.6 +1 ;
2: it's some compatibility issue with your rig that you need to resolve, like my friend; or
3: it's placebo from combined lag but also from an incorrect control set-up throwing you off

My lack of opponents in project M left me rusty.
One of my brother's friends came over and my brother and all his other buddies were hyping him up to be better than me.

He came over and I was putting in smash 4 and he said "Oh we're playing smash 4?" and I asked if he had a game of preference.

He said project M and I was just like

Both of us rusty as **** from everyone else wanting to play smash 4 most of the time. So we start playing and it was just great to get a chance to play a competent opponent in project M again.

After we were both warmed up I figured out I was better than him, but he did have some cool stuff I picked up on.

I feel like my combo game has improved even better from that, along with reading new opponents.

And even better, I played smash 4 a few hours later and my play in that was even more solid than it was before.

I must figure out the secrets to dual handling these games. It's making me get better in both.

Smash 4 and Brawl can improve your neutral game.

Actually playing PM improves your everything else.

Especially your enjoyment of the video game you're playing.

...y'know, because PM is actually enjoyable.

I know the feeling. Even with nearby opponents and buffers as low as 3-4, I still miss tech windows, can't powershield anything... And a lot of the time, inputs get dropped just because my opponent's computer isn't fast enough and lags a bit.

To this day, the only fighting game where I've had a pretty great and consistent online experience was Skullgirls, so whenever I have to play tolerate another game's online mode, the only thing that comes to my mind is :
#WhensGGPO?

Competitive project m players > smash 4 players = "casual" project m players > project m CPU

on the fun scale.

TIL that the new Gamecube controllers (aka the white ones they made alongside the Wii and the Smash logo ones) have slightly larger triggers than the old ones. So that explains why my new white Smash logo controller has terribly stiff triggers that haven't improved after a solid month of playing.
Swapped the triggers out with an old broken controller I had lying around, and shortened the springs by a few coils while I already had it opened up. The triggers on the new controllers are a slightly lighter hue of gray, which I think looks better than the old triggers, but I can look past that because the triggers are smooth as butter now.
