I don't really like how much of a cocky ****bag Leffen is, but he does say a lot of intelligent things backed up by the fact that he's actually really good at the game, and for that I respect him.

That being said, it feels so good to watch him lose.
idk why but for whatever reason all the new age smashers think everyone is cocky. we live in a messed up world where the truth is "arrogant" because it removes all honesty from calling it how it is. everyone says leffen is going to beat chillin but he cant make that observation for himself? come on.

Not that I actually care, but does him being right or wrong actually matter in whether he's cocky or not?

i think it does, yes. part of what it means to be arrogant is over-estimating one's ability. the issue here is that i don't think he is, and i'm pretty sure everyone else is on the same page on this one.

There is a massive difference between being full of yourself but also completely correct in any boasts you make, and being just plain full of it.

I don't really think people are hating leffen because he is confident that he will win, it's that he's being antagonistic. It's not about what's he's saying, it's about how he says it. If he didn't have a reputation, and was asked what the set count would be and said "5-0, I have been practicing very hard lately and am extremely confident that I will win." or anything to that effect, no one would have really cared.

When he goes on to talk about how chillin isn't even on his radar, and isn't worth practicing for, that's the difference. Stuff like "I WISH he had more of a shot (against me)" "Why should I waste my time practicing against him, I am going to beat him anyway" "I don't care about chillin" and he even was taking shots at his stream.

Doesn't even matter how true any of it is. If you call someone fat, and people get mad at you for it, make sure you tell everyone "Why are you guys upset at me? That person IS fat! I'm not wrong!" and see what happens lol.

All that being said, I think he's doing it on purpose. It's building up hype and drama for him, which is advantageous for him and maybe potential sponsors. Besides, it's good to have "bad guys" in sports. (as long as it not like the NFL's types of "Bad guys' where they literally kill and **** people)

Leffen doesn't just talk. He gets results. Hbox and M2K say baseless **** about PM players and game design. Leffen talks **** about people he can beat, and he has proven he was right.

I wan to see him lose to chillin for the lolz. I hope m2k remains his kryptonite forever too.

Chillin isn't even fat anymore, he started working out.

How rude.

Leffens trash talk isn't even that agressive. It comes off rude because he says it so calmly, and people get offended because they know it's true.

This is playground **** to what the rest of the fgc goes through, it's like you guys didn't watch the viscant LTG money match.

This is also super tame compared to how the smash community used to trash talk lol
I want to hear his higher pitched voice again, but I don't know what video would have it.

and I got a 11/13/2011 of him talking to vectorman on an ended stream at 1am; wonder if most people forgot he use to play Yoshi and Falco

L3ff3n: I honestly think Yoshi vs Fox is even and maybe even in yoshis favor in pal
» but whenever I say that people think I'm crazy
V3ctorman: haha i won't go that far... well not in NTSC at least... idk about ur version
L3ff3n: Fox has no good combos if Yoshi DI's
V3ctorman: ^true
L3ff3n: Yoshi has consistent 0-to-deaths
Peefisanecromancer: yoshi got a dair nerf in pal right
L3ff3n: I'll show you when my vids come up man
V3ctorman: im eggcited
» ^see what i did thar? XD
L3ff3n: 0 to deathing really isnt hard
Rawrrk9: facepalm
L3ff3n: ;D
» lolol
Rawrrk9: eggcited?
» really?
L3ff3n: its a little harder than doing it with marth
V3ctorman: eggstinction reference, just using egg, w/another word XD
Rawrrk9: yeah i know
V3ctorman: haha yeah axe left
» axe loses to yoshi he's not allmight
Rawrrk9: it was just a terrible pun
V3ctorman: xD JK JK AXE
» @rawrrk it wasn't that bad..
» "cries"
L3ff3n: but yeah Vman, I'm practicing really hard for apex with Yoshi atm
Rawrrk9: haha yeah im just giving you a hard time
L3ff3n: I just noticed that my Fox is falling behind a bit which is terrible
V3ctorman: you better man.. im so hyped for you. im a be following you
» btw ur fox is madd good man saw some sets of it
L3ff3n: what sets?
Peefisanecromancer: same, what videos did you mean of the combos that are coming, from one of your latest tournies?
V3ctorman: u were fox dittoin someone
L3ff3n: I started playing him seriously like 2 months ago
» oh Hack?
» the friendlies thing?
V3ctorman: i will be going to apex... leffen will be replacing me in terms of yoshi representation... I will be goin Roy
» @leffen yeah i think vs hack
L3ff3n: oh
» I honestly didnt like those vids (neither yoshi or fox) >_>
V3ctorman: ur yoshi was off that day
» ur fox was.. mad purrdy
L3ff3n: I 6-0d him pretty brutally with fox earlier that day in tournament
» my fox was pretty but I couldnt dash dance
» I got a controller for winning so I tried it out some
V3ctorman: haha we all have those
L3ff3n: I failed a lot etc but whatevs
V3ctorman: leffen tarzan asked you a question btw
L3ff3n: Oh
» I main Yoshi and sub Fox
» xD
V3ctorman: yoshi > falcon
» real talk
L3ff3n: Yoshi vs falcon is sooo weird
V3ctorman: i LOV YOSHI VS falcon
L3ff3n: I've been practicing
V3ctorman: i only need to beat scar/ SS and i
L3ff3n: CC first hit nair Parry seocond
» second*
V3ctorman: i'd beaten all falcon mains not mango
L3ff3n: but its hard
» I think the matchup is fun too
V3ctorman: u.s.
L3ff3n: Its just that if you're off your game its tough
V3ctorman: nah man
» ummmm not real ones just me vs axe..
» refer to taj
L3ff3n: CF can actually get 40%+ combos
V3ctorman: taj has a GREAT samus
L3ff3n: Oh, i've also started to implement Egg roll for recovering vs falcos lasers
» that **** is crazy but its good
» Yeah you get a "airdodge" boost at the start of it
V3ctorman: only samus w/vids that i say you watch is prolly duck
» or plup
L3ff3n: and you keep your jump when you get hit
» so you gain height by taking lasers
V3ctorman: since they have wins vs notable players
» yeah
» hs'e smart
» he outsmarted him mainly
L3ff3n: duck beat sfat and unknown right?
V3ctorman: @leffen sfat yes
L3ff3n: oh right
V3ctorman: unknown i don remember
L3ff3n: unknown lost to s2j
» sorry
» oh btw vman
» how do you do reverse eggs from the edge?
V3ctorman: quarter circle away, half circle towards stage up+B
» seems to work for me pretty "decently"
L3ff3n: I'm trying to like
V3ctorman: now a days tho.. i only throw one egg to hopefully "gimp" the jump and the rest i just like... egg throw backwards
L3ff3n: assuming facing right
V3ctorman: since they're most likely comin bak to stage anyway
L3ff3n: let go of edge by pressing 10 oclock
» and then circling up quickly to a Up B
V3ctorman: i can see that workin if that' doesn't work try ur
L3ff3n: I dunno, if you hit a fox/falco you can lock em pretty decently
» also letting go with C stick seems good
» but its weird
V3ctorman: like 11-12.. seems 10.. you'll lose too much momentum on keepin near the stage to regrab
» i think u should honestly try the
» quarter circle away half towards stage though
» that works for me pretty well
L3ff3n: quarter circle away=what?
» like 9 to 12?
» or 9 to 6 and 6 to 12
V3ctorman: yeah then go clockwise towards stage to keep ur momentum to stage
L3ff3n: hmm
V3ctorman: idk what's the "best" way to do it
L3ff3n: I'll try
V3ctorman: ^but this way works fo rme ;0
L3ff3n: thing is with my method
» dropping with 10 and then jumping with 11 and then B
» doesnt require you to time your jump with X
» which means you'll probably waste less time in general =more invincibility
V3ctorman: ^indeed
L3ff3n: damn yoshi is really deep lol
V3ctorman: heh you know that' s pretty smart... i don think i can change now though.. im so used to the way i do it... ijust don think i could do it
» i don wanna ruin my timin be tryin somethin different
L3ff3n: haha I know the feeling
V3ctorman: and yes yoshi is LOL
L3ff3n: its why I'm debating
» to start using normal eggs from the edge
» by letting go off the edge with c stick and then just jumping with up
» a bit easier to time since you dont have to wait for the stick to get normal if you let go by away
» and you don't fast fall like when you press down
» (which means you spend more time jumping and less invincibility)
V3ctorman: haha yeah
» you'll hav to tell me how that works for you.. i KNOW i won't be able to do / adapt to that..
L3ff3n: when you let go with c stick you also get jump "buffer" (since it tries to jump at 3 different strengths of pushing the stivk"
» stick)*
» haha changing **** is hard
V3ctorman: ^i agree
L3ff3n: I'm just thinking that its better to do now than later
V3ctorman: 187% >.>
Peefisanecromancer: when you play Falco leffen do you use c-stick for any aerials
V3ctorman: giv him dat cheddar
L3ff3n: for all
» cept nair
Peefisanecromancer: you don't use claw method either right
V3ctorman: nah i think leffen plays normal
Peefisanecromancer: do you pro guys use c-stick to buffer rolls a lot
» /spotdodges
L3ff3n: sometimes I guess
V3ctorman: ^situational
L3ff3n: but not that often
Rawrrk9: youre welcome
L3ff3n: I don't roll that much but when I do I use Cstick lol
V3ctorman: tarzan
» is sethlon still there!?
Peefisanecromancer: so you think Falco is the harder to master/harder character, while fox is the opposite?
V3ctorman:
» ;_; oook
» mojo JOJO
» sup main!!
» xD
L3ff3n: I think fox is harder to master
» by quite a bit actually
V3ctorman: haha see yall there
Rawrrk9: later homeslice
V3ctorman: leffen let's find another stream XD
L3ff3n: haha i kinda have to sleep
Peefisanecromancer: L3ff3n, if you faced Zgetto again in tournament and went yoshi, do you think you'd win?
L3ff3n: 8am here LOL
Peefisanecromancer: wow
V3ctorman: ONLY LOSERS sleep
L3ff3n: Hmm
V3ctorman: jk leffen
L3ff3n: I think so yeah
» I beat Ice's fox with Yoshi like 4-3 in friendlies
» serious ones
Peefisanecromancer: so crazy
L3ff3n: and that was before I really played him at all
» To be really honest
V3ctorman: yoshi mains are sick yo. don't underestimate =D
L3ff3n: In a bo3 set I think no fox would beat me atm
» in bo5 maybe but bo3 they wont have time to learn any matchup
» but that is if im super onpoint
V3ctorman: haha nice man ^
L3ff3n: which I has been during during all my tournament matches vs Fox so far but who still
» Fox players vs me in tournament has been like
» Tonberry, 3 stock low percent the 1 game
» zoler, jv4 and 4 stock
» dev, 3 stock and 2stock lowpercent
» and both zoler and dev had yoshi exp
» but thats in PAL
» >_>
Peefisanecromancer:
V3ctorman: you need to play some U.S. foxes son...
» beat kels and i'll love you forever!
L3ff3n: haha
V3ctorman: he camped the living **** OUTTA ME..
» at pound V
L3ff3n: campy foxes are weird to play
» I usually figure them out though
V3ctorman: kels won't approach
» he'll run away laser ALLLL DAYYY
L3ff3n: make him
» plank him
» platform camp and threaten his lasers
V3ctorman: and catching him on Kongo jungle 64 = hard
L3ff3n: loool
» I think KJ64 is p. good for yoshi actually
» but you'll have to camp
V3ctorman: i do too, if i can EVER catch him.. and you know me.. idk how to camp
L3ff3n: did you take a game off him?
V3ctorman: aggro = awesomer
L3ff3n: yeah I play aggro too
V3ctorman: yeah the first game
» he took me to FD game 1 LULZ
L3ff3n: vs good foxes though you just have to bait his range most times
» like dash dance into a range
Rawrrk9: lol they left it on?
L3ff3n: where he cannot laser
V3ctorman: i couldn't do it.. i can't camp back..
L3ff3n: and then just do a pivot fair if you think he nairs
» or chase him with bair
V3ctorman: not in me..
L3ff3n: thats not really camping
» its just mixing up so he cannot just utilt you everytime
V3ctorman: i suppose ;/
» well beat him for me k?
L3ff3n: I'll try
» I hate Fox's dair tho
» no parry ftl
» You can just dd grab it or just ftilt it but still
V3ctorman: DD grab
Peefisanecromancer: If your playing Falco and you get daired by fox, do you sometimes manage to SDI it into your shine?
» i mean SDI out of it, then shine
L3ff3n: hum
Peefisanecromancer: or is that more of a uncommon thing to try and do
L3ff3n: like
» I don't SDI it most of the times
» If I see it coming I just Utilt it
» reacting with SDI is kinda hard imho
» esp as many times you can just shine their next move
Peefisanecromancer: who's harder for your falco, marth or shiek
» or falco in general w/e in your oppinion
» did you say for apex your going to use fox as secondary instead of falco?
L3ff3n: yeah
» though
» If my yoshi game is real off vs spacies/CF I'll go falco
» since I suck in those matchups with fox lol
Peefisanecromancer: thanks for all your advice
» 8 am is kind of crazy
Broadcaster Noc0002: we are packing up
Peefisanecromancer: and Vman
Broadcaster Noc0002: thanks for watching and remember to follow!
Peefisanecromancer: good stream

Oh crap the log @'ded him
We should do tech skill difficulty tables. I will start thinking about a formula that considers frame leniency, precision, input amount and a few other factors, it would be nice to see what is really difficult (OK it is somehow subjective, but there are probably certain things most people can kinda agree on).

@ SpiderMad SpiderMad
Does one not see the alert if one gets tagged just in an edit? I found your post by randomly scrolling through the thread, not by the alert.
Your consistency test on monk is scary btw, I'd be afraid that you reveal my fraud consistency at tech skill (can do basically everything from time to time, but not at high consistency and especially not with the psychological pressure which would then last on you if you are about to be exposed) if we met irl, and I think many others would be too.
When people do the challenges and their outcome is helping me gauge that too

Crap I was thinking that about edit @s, I think it's true let me test again @ SpiderMad SpiderMad

That's how it is in tournament, the harder early/double aerials also come with the detriments of what action or state your in if you mess them up which can make you not go for some more than others. But yeah this was SHDF (the easiest double aerial there is) and we both sucked at it (I was trying to learn not expose, which I try to reserve to squirtle players)

I can see why older players would hate him based on stuff I've heard from them and his older Smashboards posts and stuff, he's still blunt, cocky, and rude but not enough that he'd be someone I actively hate or cheer against now.

Now see, Chris used to be full of it and wrong for it pretty often.
Still is, but not quite as much.

Not a fair comparison~

If pro smashers start wearing makeup and having character backstories like wrestlers, I'd approve.
I call dibs on being the Cena of Smash. I will fulfill this by going on the grand finals of Sm4sh, telling Zero that he "can't see me" while waving my hand in front of my face, lifting him up on my shoulders as if he was the Big Show and Mark Henry combined, and give him an Attitude Adjustment off the stage unto the ground which will cause a 6.0 earthquake in Jersey and the destruction of the Clarion hotel. Amongst the rubble, I will no sell it and with my theme music hitting out loud of nowhere, I will yell out to all the injured and dead below me that the CHAMP......IS.....HERE!

Wrestling is a joke, right? People don't actually think any of that **** is real (except for the hitting), do they? Like it's all just frivolous.

You're talking about the storylines? Kids will usually believe them as real. Certain adults will believe the realistic storylines like the underdog vs the powers that be. Hell, I believed the Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar rivalry because even though Brock was this beast, Eddie was portrayed as a guy who lied, stole, and cheated his way to victory.

All wrestling isn't like WWE with its crazy storylines. If you want pure wrestling with no obvious fictional characters or segmented storylines, look into PWG or New Japan Pro Wrestling.

The smash community should take example on wrestling and just stage crazy exhibition sets where players orchestrate insane comebacks and impressive implementation of their flawless techskill. Then we replace the players with TAS bots to save money.
