This is why I don't do tech skill drills every day anymore. My hands already have problems, and I know too many smashers personally who have ****ed up hands already from smash.

Ok, Shield comes out frame 1 in Melee and PM, right?
Cause Hax is all like, *"Fox is better cause I can powershield every Falco laser and its not reactable." Thats BS, because we know you want to pick the best option, so we just use our 20XX to know you will powershield in advance and then power shield back. This is in addition to the fact that Falco can just time the laser to not shoot, and you can't react b/c there will always be a frame difference between laser coming out or not.

And if you are saying, "Oh that sound ridiculously difficult", PSing Falco laser consistently is already stupid difficult in the first place, if any part of the laser touches the non-PS part of the shield, it induces regular shield stun.

To be fair, stretching and other exercises can minimize if not outright prevent injuries like this from happening.

why would fox try to powershield falco's lasers when he has a frame one jump cancelable reflector that he can also use in the air

this is a legit question, I'm not sure if I'm missing something here

Because you can't jump cancel if you reflect with it.

EDIT: FIRST SUCK IT MOFOS

iirc he can't jump cancel a shine if he's reflecting something at the same time. I think Falco can do that, but not Fox.

Because in 20XX, reflecting with shine induces waaaaay to much ending lag, you can't just waveshine out. If you really are ok with getting Dair>Shine>100% combo or zero to death, it is completely valid.
Edit: Ninjas everywhere.

Power shielding is zero comitment, act out immediatly
shine commits to 4 frames before jump cancel, hitlag/stun whatever, and jump squat.

Falco being able to do that was a bug in 3.0. Pretty sure it was fixed in 3.5. Reflector is a commitment while PS is not.

Unrelated, but I remember scar freaking out once when Toph told him that a reflected projectile is 1.5 times stronger while a powershielded one is twice as weak.

Does that change laser's hitstun? Cause if so Hax is going to really dislike using powershield just so the Falco can Shine>100% combo or zero-to-death.
Edit: Just got an idea, could aiming the lasers higher cause them to just bounce off at a high angle?

Lasers are set knockback, so their hitstun should be consistent too.

And falco reflecting his own laser will still lock him in shine, so I don't think you can capitalize. If anything, the opponent might be at a frame advantage if he was close by. Powershielding lasers is the best option, even for Falco.

With this info in hand... 20XX Tier List prediction
  1. Fox
  2. Marth
  3. Falco
  4. All other characters are unviable
Followed shortly by the post 20XX era after Flacos learns to PS back the lasers that Foxes PS back.
  1. Falco
  2. Fox
  3. Close 3rd Marth
  4. Nothing changes except Pichu overtakes Koopa and M2
Edit: Stage List Changes
Yoshi's Island SIXTY FOUR is legalized, FD is now a counterpick.

You're forgetting yoshis niche in being able to parry through multi shines

Because of his shine being brawls originally where he kicked it. All reflectors/absorbers go through lag upon the reflect/absorb

I think you're right but might want to double check on that, shield stun I think could be different.

This is what Sakurai needs to do if he wants Smash 4 to be comfortable without people having to remove shoulder springs again https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDHwExc5A5Y
And I'm still surprised at either how I convinced Sakurai to go with Light Press Air Dodge, or outlined some of the reasons he or someone did indeed go with all light press.

Also I saw The King of Kong documentary. Overall it was decent, kind of crappy ending; but you're left to just think Billy is a douche.
Billy looks totally like Oracle, with a hint of Peter Dinklage.
And Steve has similar teeth to PC-Chris

Yeah, I'm not sure if it has more shieldstun. I don't know how shieldstun works in PM/Melee.
Of course you don't, it was based on Fibernonci numbers to calculate the formula set by the Illumanutees of the Smash Continuum

Just make sure you don't play any pokes, they the debil's work.

We have more people over 21, so I'd say 90's trivia drinking contest would be best for us.
I'm not over 21, but i will volunteer myself as tribute

Count me out that crew. I am the worst at dealing with lag. One time I four stocked someone, then had to move to an HD TV and lost.

So I haven't played 3.5 at all or looked at videos/tournaments pretty much since Smash 4. What's the down-low on balance and tiers and whatnot? I had a suspicion Samus would be really good in this version; is that the case?

Yup, she's good, if not better. Ice mode got pretty nice buffs/she's more-or-less the same all around besides that, the only nerf is of grapple and that's fine.
