Are you familiar with Coney's Wario? I think watching a bit of his gameplay might help you where fighting cpu's can't.

Well, I just got mine working. Also...this is for homebrew options. So if you don't have a homebrew, theres another thread for that here on SWF.
But, despite that, servers are down at the moment. So we have to wait in line like physically bound plebeians.

BTW @ Element of Smash & @ Aunt Jemima theirs a hackles non hombrew version of getting custom WiFi

That seems to be the case until... naw. Wifi just seems to be drunk right nowallowing us online, but not allowing matches.
