Well I had a great idea today! :awesome:
Well the idea is that you can open a pac files as a whole 3d model, and EDIT it from the same page, coloring it like a picture
I need some programmers to help me tho

If you still don't get it , imagine it this way, you preview something in brawlbox, now you can select a paint tool and draw over, for example, Ness's shirt. You select cyan and fill in his shirt.

Anyone wanna help?

I don't think is that easy, if it was, it'd have been done by now, I mean, this is what everyone would like to have to texturize, and it hasn't been done.

Anyways, good luck!

I believe the first question that needs to be asked is, do you have any programming experience?

Yes(barely), and my brother is in his last year of collage, and he's studying programming so, yeah.

But wouldn't this be cool?

It would be cool, but those who are capable of this are involved in other projects. Frankly, this is just an easier way to do what we already can do. But once again, it would be cool.

Ur asking for something that is already done in most high-end 3d programs. The best thing I could tell you to code is a extention for BrawlBox that observes a png file while you are viewing a model, and auto updates the texture when the png changes. That way you could tweak things and see the changes on the model.

Its an interesting idea, but It would take a long time to get this to give you anywhere near the texturing ability that any 2d graphics editor can. I have experience with high end 3d programs such as zbrush and still find that I prefer photoshop (or GIMP for that matter) over direct 3d painting.

No no, I have a better idea!
How about a tool where you flip your fingers and everything you wish for will be done?
Man, that'd be awesome!
I need programers ASAP!!1

"If you got sh*t in one hand, and wishes in the other, ...."-really old guy on grumpier old men.

that was kinda mean though, xane.

this is a really good idea, red. if you could find a free program which could paint 3d models, you might be able to piggyback BBox onto that. well, for that matter, if you could do that, you could piggyback BBox onto a complete 3d model editing program so you could completely create new characters just like that. i'd say the biggest problem would be all the loads of crap that would come pouring in. like, "dude, i vertexed my cat onto Pikachu! i can play as fluffy!" or all the "project 'unknown character that shouldn't be in brawl at all' " topics.

good idea though. dream big!

Photoshop CS4 and up have this feature. We can already export models, and textures.

And frankly, it is not an easy feature to implement, not to mention that it would produce results of a quality much lower than the textures we can already produce. Unless you're willing to develop it yourself, I don't think this project is going to go anywhere.
