Problem using sword dance

Idk why but i do. Can someone clarify for me? Do you just hold the stick in the direction and keep pressing B or keep pressing the joystick in the direction? what ever works best i can only do it sometimes >_>

You have to press it at well timed intervals. And then press or hold the correct DI. You can do neutral for the first, neutral or up for 2nd, and neutral, up or down for the 3rd and 4th.

What's so hard about using "sword dance"? You click the button, and your pokemons attack stat goes to a +2 level. DON'T BE A N00B!
