Predictions of smash, Samurai's direct

Does anyone have any predictions for the upcoming direct with Samurai? He announced a smash oriented one on the 15th so what do you guys think? I believe he'll announce Roy or wolf and some new stages. Post your thoughts.

I'm fully, 100% expecting a new character to be revealed in this presentation. We got a new character reveal in every single presentation with major Smash 4 informations, and I think there would be little point to do a direct like that without a new character. It's not a matter or if we get a new character reveal, but whether this character will be announced at last minute to be released in the new update alongside Lucas or instead planned for a later update. Considering the direct's timing and the fact it is supposed to talk about the new update, I think the former has a decent chance to happen.

I think Roy will be revealed in this Smash dedicated direct, whereas Ryu will be saved for the Digital Event. He's an iconic third-party character, and due to that I think he's more E3 caliber than Roy. Ryu and SF contents will be the only Smash related thing they'll reveal in the Digital Event; everything else will be talked about in the Smash presentation in order to save time to talk about actual upcoming games.

My biggest hope for this direct is the confirmation that Mewtwo will get custom moves in the update and that upcoming DLC characters will all eventually get them as well, even if it means they're added later than the characters themselves. Please let this happen!!

Here's what's going to happen.

I think it's very likely that they'll be showing a new character in the presentation; up until now, we've always had something to look forward to at all times.

3DS version was released, and we obviously had the Wii U version to look forward to.

Wii U version was released, and we had Mewtwo to look forward to.

Mewtwo got released, and we had already learned about Lucas just a few weeks back.

When they release the Lucas+Miiverse+Inkling update, the only stuff on the "list" will be Tournament mode and the mystery ballot character to be announced near the end of the year. Is that enough? Or will they throw one more character thing into the furnace to keep the hype train moving at the same pace as it's moved since it left the station?

I imagine they'll save Ryu for E3 and Roy for the FE 25th Anniversary Event, at which Sakurai is speaking.

So... probably either another sooner-coming character (Wolf or someone maybe, who knows), or just tidbits about Lucas, Miiverse, and other stuffs.

It might seem too early...but I suppose this presentation would be a more reasonable time to talk about the ballot. Since a lot of people watching the E3 presentation would probably be confused by it.

I wouldn't bet on it by any means, but I think it's something to keep in mind.

I could see Sakurai either showing off a model of a ballot character or even just making a statement that X character is being planned from the ballot (and probably a statement that there's still more to come from the ballot in future) I think they would be more likely to get away with that kind of announcement in a dedicated Smash presentation. (whereas it might not be flashy enough for E3)

To be fair you have to consider Mega Man too. So a third party newcomer was announced both in and outside of a digital event. That makes things more even.

I think they'll announce a new character, but a returning one (like Roy, Wolf, etc.) I think they'll also talk about more stages and how they will either be free updates or DLC or Amiibo bonuses or whatever. They'll probably announce something new Amiibo related, or update us on features like tournament mode or maybe the possibility of adding Mii characters to For Glory?

Considering this is right before the Championships, I would assume the tournament feature similar to Mario Kart will be the main focus, and maybe a hint at a separate Smash Tournament hosted by Nintendo that'll be online culminating in a presentation at EVO?!?

It depends on how long it is. It could be a quick 5-minute update with just Ryu, but since they're hyping it up I expect a few more reveals. It won't be a 50-fact extravaganza of course (still the best Nintendo Direct ever).

I think it will be about new stages!! Stage builder updates, tournament mode, new dlc costumes for miis and other characters, I mean Little mac shouldnt be the only one with 16 costumes. Miiverse stage. AN ADVENTURE MODE!! Um, online tournaments, more 8 player options, more stuff!

To be fair I was almost absolutely sure Little Mac had no way of integrating well into Smash, yet here we are. I agree he does seem a little out of place, a lot of other candidates (like Rayman for example), but his moveset would be pretty straightforward.

Froger, haven't heard that one before but that would definitely be a curveball if it happened.

3 miiverse stage info (reminder 50-facts confirmed this was not complete on final rlease so this will be added without having to download i believe.). (Ps i hope that stage plays like the picchat stages and miiverse chears i known.)

4 a little trailer with more upcoming costumes stages and modes

5 then it ends with a character trailer (it can be ryu, or roy, or wolf, or a high voted for ballot character, or a completely unexspected character.)

Theres was 3 character reveals on both E3 so wagering that will happen again so

Ryu and roy are 2

And then we have either wolf or random character/high request ballot character for the third.

I'd say Roy and Ryu wouldn't really have been that surprising in the first place...

I doubt we're getting any other information in the Direct tomorrow, and it seems like Roy and Ryu will also be released tomorrow with Lucas - I guess that would have been the big news more than anything else.

This also makes me think we're not getting any big news at E3, if all of the big stuff is coming tomorrow. I suppose that they may give us one little hint; since the ballot's going until October, I guess we'll be getting at least one character after that; I just don't know when they're going to announce the next one. Unless they have another Nintendo Direct in the September timeframe to report a new character...?

Possibly all we'll get Smash-related during E3 is amiibo release dates for DP/Pal, possibly wave 6, and the release windows for GnW/Falco/ROB/DHD
