I find myself without the proper company to practice playing Dedede against people better than myself (and not because I'm any good :p). What do you guys do when playing against people not as good as you or against bots to better practice being the King?

I often set my handicap at 80 against level 9 bots, around 50 against my friends, but there has to be a better way, right? What do you guys do?

(Edited since it wasnt clear who the handicap was for)

Well...

Use stocks first of all.

Set a computer to level 6 or 5, something weak.

Then try beating it, it shoudn't be much challenging but it should help you gain total control over your character.

Or you could just go into training mode and practicing shield cancel cg'ing people.

Yeah just use a different character or just sandbag in those matches, it's easy. Or don't play computers at all unless if you want to learn frame by frame from them, which takes months and months.

One thing I've noticed about level 9 computers is that they fall for the Dededecide every time. All I have to do to beat them is take off a stock and then do falling inhales off the edge for the last 2 stocks. They walk right up to me and get as close to the ledge as possible and don't try to roll away or attack me out of Inhale or anything. Ever since I found this out, playing level 9s has been worthless to me.

Play online to learn the matchups and go to local tourneys to improve your overall skill.
