Potential in Olimar

Olimar has the potential to be the best character in brawl. Perfecting his camping would do it, but everyone would hate you like they now hate MK. Camping would (should) reduce the amount of damage received my Olimar solving his tether recovery problem (never having to use it). In addition, to dodge the pikmin, your opponents would have to jump or spot dodge. If your opponents jump, usmash the crap out of them. If they jump higher, upb them (practice). If they decide to spot dodge, just take the opportunity to regain your space, or punish. A perfect camping Olimar would rack up damage like crazy and punish when needed.

Any character played absolutely perfectly would have the potential to never be beaten, but that is all just theory smash. You can't tell beforehand whether your opponent will spotdodge, or shield, or what. It all comes down to, in the "perfect player" situation who can out mind-game each other. I don't see why olimar would have an edge over some other characters with faster attacks when played perfectly.

Because we're pretty close to being at perfect camping while ICs still don't get a free kill for every grab.

If you're so close, then why aren't Olimars storming the tourney scene like the other high-top tiers? <<

Well, if you're "almost" at "perfect" camping, you "almost" don't get knocked off the edge, so you "almost" don't get gimped with a horrible recovery, so you "almost" don't get gimped 3 times.

...because perfect camping isn't possible. That's totally unrealistic.

I don't give a crap about what M2K and Inui said... cuz they're wrong.

I actually had a thoughtful discussion about perfect olimar versus perfect mk (obviously spawned the the recent 'perfect camp' hype).
Ironically, we came to conclusion it neither character wins. In a match between perfect olimar v perfect mk would result in both characters standing still the entire match. Anything you do puts you at a disadvantage, every move being able to be power shielded or spot dodged ect allow for punishment, and down to frame, if you attack, you're taking a risk.
Even to sudden death, bombs would be power shielded, and you would still have a match that wouldn't end.
It's pretty dumb i know, but let's stop with the "a perfect olimar would...." because it's under the assumption that the other character can't be perfect, and only olimar has that potential (by all means I would love to believe that ;) ).
