Pontenential Shield Break Combos

I don't know if you guys use this, but Falco's DACUS combo has very good shield pressure(reducing the shield to a very small size). So I was thinking that if there was some attack that true comboed to dash attack on shields, we just might have a shield break combo. (I might test tommorow after school (I'm 11 you know) but then again, I might not.)

im fairly sure falco isn't quick enough to do this. but the only thing i think is close to breaking a shield would be dair, 2 jabs, dash attack, upsmash. but people can grab right after the dair. if you're lucky, they'll be close to the ledge and let you go anyway.

But yeah unfortunately there is no possibility of this. Not enough shieldstun, no lag cancelling, yeah, there is no way to break shields for sure unless you have Mr Saturn (The most broken character in the game).

No iirc, the opponent has a few frames they can grab you after the dash attack in. I think..6? I dont remember the exact number but I know its possible.

The closest thing to a true shield breaker in brawl is a Jab > Bowser Bomb.

This makes me think if Brawl+ allows shield breakers? Falco cannot shield break as his shine sux for pillaring. But I think Fox might be able to pull it off with Dair > Shine > repeat till it breaks.

And about the grabbing before the Usmash thing: It's entirely possible, especially when grab armor is taken into account.

There are no full shield break combos in the game. You would have to pressure them into getting hit so many times to break their shield.

IAP canceled(or not) to land right behind them into dash attack up smash seems promising. Someone test if it can break a full shield. Don't try to prove its not a combo because we already know. This is to see if someone holds their shield for that long if it'll break.

anyways yeah this seems kinda impractical, though you may be able to somehow lower their shield enough to poke them with jab or ftilt

Dash Attack to Upsmash (Hyphen Smash??) isn't shieldgrabbable by people with slow *** grabs, like Yoshi. I don't think Zelda can grab you out of it either.

Tommy G is a beast! I saw what you did to kei at florida gaming. Good stuff in these vids. My only problem is I can't sem to jab that fast without going into falco's A combo. How exactly do you jab while preventing this from happening?

Crouch cancel it. Press down and let go of the control stick every jab. Practice the timing, you'll get it.

Come to think of it, ive never broken a shield in a competitive game. So i dont really find shield break combos that useful. I mean people aren,t going to wait there will their shield is starting to dwindle. Not trying to be a jerk so dont take this offensively-.-

Choose Marth. Space well. Tap B. It's actually called Shieldbreaker because that's what it does in Brawl.

Well in Brawl, Marth's shieldbreaker has a different mechanic that basically just demolishes shields (as the title implicates). I was just pointing out that in Brawl there is still potential to get a shield break in a real match.

Against Zamus with 1 armour piece in your hand, double item drop (you may be able to do a triple into a buffered gatling combo.

That should shield break.

Practicality of it? Next to none. <_< /has done it twice in countless matches
