Whenever I watch team tourneys, I always watch for moments when the fighters chain moves together into an effective offense. But when watching some other tourneys, certain teams will look more or less cohesive. That got me wondering. Who is the best partner for each character? Well, since I’m a casual Brawler, and I don’t have the expertise to judge, so why not ask the experts? I originally tried this on GameFAQs, but the users in general were immature, or not qualified to give the information. Then I remembered the specific boards on Smashboards, so I brought the poll here. So who do you think the best partner is for Sonic?

Rules:

- The poll will last for a week. If it becomes popular, it may last longer.
- You may only vote for one character.
- Assume friendly fire is on.
- Assume there are no items.
- After posting your answer, give a detailed reason why you choose that character. If you don’t give viable information, your vote will not be added.
- You may ask to change your vote if you have a viable reason.
- Discussion on your choices is allowed. NO FLAMES!!!
- If you vote Pokemon Trainer, you must discuss details for all his pokemon.
- If you vote on the Pokemon Trainer poll, you must discuss details for all his pokemon.
- If you want to use videos to explain your reasoning, feel free to post them, but remember. I play this game casually, so you have to explain what parts of the video are important and why they are important.
- You may vote on multiple polls.
- If issues occur, I may add or remove rules, so be sure to review the list.

well, you can look in the thread called "Dubz". It's basically discussing the same thing.

IMO, Snake's a good teammate lol. Sonic damages people rather easily, and a sticky C4 transferring from Sonic to a high % target is full of win.

Eh I don't think Ike would work well with Sonic, Ike is rather slow to get around and Sonic is just flying around the screen, he mgiht not be able to keep up...or maybe how most of Sonic's B attacks are dangerous to use because he is going around with his spin-dashes...You know unless somebody tells me otherwise, I don't think Sonic is a real team player. :(

Either way, Ike will still have problems landing kill moves unless like, Sonic throws the guy into them.

The only dangerous move would be Homing Attack, because there's a chance that the placement will be just stupid enough so that instead of hitting the guy you're about to gimp, you end up going into your teammate's smash.

Team C4 is the most reliable of the ideas though.

Snake is great.

From personal experience, Lucario and Marth make good Sonic partners as well. DK might be an option as well. Basically, any character that can help out the whole "Sonic has no kill moves," idea rocks with Sonic. The Sonic can literally rack up the damage while the power character plays it safe, then goes in for the KOs when necessary. Of course, if the person using the power character is good, he can go all out as well.

But the best is Snake. Besides, that just makes sense, having the two third party characters team up.

BTW, spring jump is awesome for team tactics.

sonic goes well with ike because sonic runs up attacks and racks up th damage then ike can come in and blow them away plus if ike gets them both with final smash but they survive at the top of the screen then u can use b and they are a out of their but if sonic gets final smash he does all the work so i would let ike get it if possible

competitive doubles. :ohwell:

Ike doesn't generally do so well as a teammate because he has to hold his own against the other people so you can't just rely on him to be open, and his kill moves tend to be dodged easily. The mindgames he has for them also tend to be very 1v1 based, too =/

I guess they could work against less-reactive people in 2v2.

Zelda isn't too bad ;l

You can act as Zelda's Sheik and get rid of people if she's trying to transform-unstale her kill moves.

not much participation from me here. i wud say g and w has some potential. i generally think that gaw tight aerial game and high priority wud complement sonics air game and lack of priority. me nd a mate have tried this combo a few times now and wen sticking together and watching each others back it is very hard to defend against.
