Playing Melee on Wii (Control question)

I was just wondering if there was a way to play Melee on Wii with the classic controller as opposed to the gamecube controller. I have found my gamecube controllers arent as responsive as they have been over the years and it has made the game very hard to play.

I've never heard of anything like that. I recently played smash on a friend's wii with a gamecube controller and it did feel like there was a slower or less sensitive response, but this could have been my imagination. Overall, though, i'd definately say that older controllers have some problems with their responses, and depending on the kind of abuse you put them through you ought to get a new one every 2-4 years.

As for your question, Im actually not sure if yiou can use the classic controller. One of my crewmates who has a Wii says you cant.. and I'd take his word. Sorry : /

You definitely cannot use a classic controller. All the GameCube games on the Wii play with the GameCube controllers and not the classic controller.
