Social PK Love - Lucas Social Thread: “Inside the mailbox was absolutely nothing”

This picture made me realize the way I title the earthbound series, notice the main focus of this image, the mother.

For some reason I've always called Mother 3 just "Mother" since that is the main focus around the story.

While I've always called Earthbound, "Earthbound" (though I subtitle it as "War of Giygas").

And the original Mother I call "Zero" (because I haven't played the original, so I don't know what else to call it)

However I call the series by Earthbound as well. Kind of like Star Wars, I add the title then the subtitle:
Earthbound: Zero
Earthbound: War of Giygas
Earthbound: Mother

I saw an interesting analysis of them a while ago - that the original 'Mother' was most likely referring to planet earth, that Mother 2... Actually I'm struggling to remember how EB used it, but Mother 3 referred to Hinawa. :o

I'm still quite curious and eager to pick Lucas up, BTW. I like his aerial game in Brawl despite preferring Wario, and it seems he's getting buffed in some ways or another in that department.

Continuing the alt costume discussion... Brawls Lucas alts were all garbage, PM lucas commander suit was ice cream on ice cream served with ice cream and now we are getting a Boney alt for sm4sh. It's like an escalator ride to God Boney's heaven. Everything just keeps getting better!

I didn't mind Lucas' Brawl palettes, but Claus aside, I was disappointed at how little they really had to do with him really. Ness got the Saturn shirt and a Fuel shirt, but Lucas just got a bunch of recolored stripes. The blue and white one had a neat color scheme, though.

It's not that difficult, but sorta might impede with my pacing on the game. So I try to limit it a bit to more story-progression or just funny things I discover in the game.

Not difficult but time consuming or at least it seemed to me. For example, someone translated the entire Persona 4 : Magician manga and it was annoying to click it link by link so I put it all into a imgur album just so peope can slide down and it took me like a solid maybe 1 ~ 2 hours (not even that many chapters) just downloading the links, uploading them, and rearranging them.

On the other hand it's definitely best you don't upload every single little thing, I agree on things crucial to the story or just funny little / cool things you find.

Unfortunately, no. But I think it does, since there's no reason to they show that off if it doesn't really go over super armors.

From the looks of it, looks like Lucas' PK Fire has two hits, like Ness' custom PK Fire Burst. There's a primary hitbox (the lightning bolt hits a target) and a secondary hitbox (when the lightning explodes/bursts).

The first hit must have somehow clanked Charizard's Rock Smash (you can see that small collision bubble when two attacks collide and clank), canceling it. The second hit could therefore hurt Charizard, as Rock Smash was canceled and so was the Super Armor protecting it... that's what I think happened.

This is the guide template by the way guys, I haven't been working on it lately but I'll probably get started with it soon with the release of Lucas coming sooner. I set my guide to "Can Comment" so any tips / advice for what I could add would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: My aim for this guide is to make it a informative guide that's welcoming to new players. I also want to give it a "spice" of Mother and making it not only a informative read but a enjoyable one while making it a nod to the series that fans will notice and even having you guys just revising the words in my guide to make it more goofy would be a great contribution.

There's still hope. There is no "Red" palette swap (sans Normal color) confirmed as of now. And we are still missing 3 alternates. It would be absolute nonsense to not have a red palette swap on a character.

Seems realistic. also, I think the reason the showed off Lucas' PK Fire hitting charizard is because he's fire type maybe? I dunno

You are indeed correct, good man, but I did in fact realize the missing palettes, which just so happens to fuel my hope let's just hope I'm not setting myself up for a huge letdown, eh?

His eyes are red by default. lol. But yeah, that's his red alt.

It's been a while since I've been on this thread. I just feel that I don't have much to contribute to the conversation now that he is in. so..........Yup that's about it. I may pop in from time to time, but I'll mostly be supporting other characters. :3

But before I go I have a question? Do you think Lucas's PK Starstorm will work like in Brawl, or 3Ds/Wii U?

I was actually curious about PK Starstorm. I could see them tweaking it to work like Ness' because it'd be easier to add, or I could see them leaving it as-is to differentiate him from Ness.

If they keep the old one, they should change it a little bit. In Brawl, it was not hard to evade PK Starstorm at all, you could even just stand in place to evade it completely. But all I just want is a different FS to lessen the "but Lucas is just a Ness clone!" arguments.

Technically you COULD say they do have one.

Lucario's (red torso)

Duck Hunt's (Duck is red)

Sonic's (Shoes are red, and all his alt shoes are different colors)

So, being technical about it, no single character REALLY lacks a red alt.

Then again, I just REEEAAAALLY want that red shirt alt back. Was my favorite.

I'd imagine Lucas' PK Starstorm in SSB4 would be able to change horizontally with out being able to angle it like ness,

kinda like a pong paddle laying flat on the top of the screen and shooting stars straight downwards from the bottom of it, in which you would be able to move it left or right.
