I was wondering if any of you guys have played with the new wave dashing hack on the wii.
It was pretty awesome to QaC and WD.

It's not something that'll ever be implemented into competitive brawl play. Plus, it'll be hard to create wifi games that use the cheats. It might not even work at all that way.
So I say what's the point?

OMG people. Can you seriously not live without wavedashing? You've lasted 6 (?) months without it. If you want to play with WD for fun, go for it. As for tourneys, they should defiantly NOT be allowed. Not everyone has access/the ability to put WD on the wii. Play Melee.

Let's not be so aggressive now, K2. Granted, I hate the idea that people even have a NEED to hack the game just because the programmers didn't make it the way they wanted, but it's not something that should be outright condemned to hell. As long as it doesn't affect wi-fi play or be allowed in tourneys, it's okay.

Some of us really like the fact that wavedashing is gone from Brawl. It gives the less competitive a bit more of an edge, a "fighting chance" if you will. I remember fighting people on Melee with Shiek and not knowing **** about wavedashing. They'd 3-0 me quite easily. Thank god for brawl.

You don't have to worry about L-Canceling or Wavedashing becoming a standard in competitive play. Matter of fact, you don't have to worry about any hack becoming standard.

Im the first to not want WaveDashing back in brawl, but my friend hacked his wii and i knew how to wavedash from melee so tried it out and it was fun. I think people should try it but i could care less, brawl is fine by itself

Doesn't the official SBR rules say that hacks/modded wii's will not be used at tournaments?

Im pretty sure they wont implement this considering Brawl was a fresh start and other get as good of a chance to be good so it would unfair for other people

I played with it on the other day. It's pointless. The airdodge feature in this game is pretty amazing and balanced without these shoddy hacks. The wavedashing is like wavedashing with bowser in melee for a lot of characters. .. Well.. Pika especially. So it really served no purpose. Wavedash didn't really make up the spacing game of melee like people believe it did. >.>

The L-cancel hack is extra dumb because it works so that if you're holding shield, you get no lag at all for your aerial, so it's just stupid 64 landed aerials. ..

But yeah :].

Yay! Someone agrees with me! I think Wavedashing is such a big deal since all the pros could do it in melee and they made it look so cool. In essence, if you could wavedash, you could be one of the pros of melee (of course, that's faulty reasoning). I actually like the multiple airdodging system of brawl. It makes recovering easier, and thereby puts more emphasis on aggressive edgeguarding (which is more interesting to watch imo.)

The sad thing is that some poor nerd had to sit down and hack his wii to find some 200 digit code for wavedashing >.< poor guy...

Would it be easier to put melee on wifi or to hack the wii and get all these codes to make brawl more like melee? Seriously guys...play melee...*looks at sig*

Its really not a big deal unless you make it a big deal. I dont support any form beside friendlies when your bored with some friend to play with the hacks. its really complaining on something that doesnt effect anyone it doesnt have to.

Pika?
The only hack that every single wii should have is when you can save replays that are over 3 minutes.

I support unrestricted replay and pause camera, unlimited replay save, custom levels on wifi, and let the loser be controled and the result screen. I always have those hacks on because they dont affect gameplay.

But hacks are getting on my nerves. SBR was considering creating there own patch for brawl. Meaning they were going to make hacks to nerf and boost characters!!!

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=200495

I do NOT support this

Its like I said in another post.If your going to hack any aspect of the game that affects play in ANY minute way(lets say the no tripping code) then you should have no problem with other codes.Otherwise your being hypocritical.

You are either:

1)Someone who is completly against any forms of hacking.

2)Someone who thinks that no tripping code should be used but not other codes

3)Someone who is willing to use any hacks they feel like.

Anyone in section 2 should automatically remove themselves from any arguement for or against hacking. This is because tripping is a part of the original game and taking it out is changing the way the game plays.(even if it is only slightly).Your arguement saying "im all for no tripping code but no more" is invalid.IF YOU USE THE NO TRIPPING CODE YOU ARE IN FAVOR OF HACKS AND CHANGING THE ORIGINAL GAME!

End of discussion.(sorry but these people have been ticking me off)

How can anyone say it wouldnt be better to have wavedashing,no tripping or whatever you like in brawl. It just opens up the game so much.Imagine brawl pika perfectly drafted into melee with all his abilities intact.*DROOLS*I suppose if you love Brawl as it is then fine,go and enjoy it and ignore all this hack stuff because it doesnt affect you at all.I just think that more is better.

I am completely against hacking. i was originally against the no trip code cause i knew this exact thing would happen. i got pushed out of the thread with "omg the slippery slope argument is invalid. it wont happen"

Turns out you were right.I also asked in a thread if stuff like this was ever possible and I was told no.

You were in fact right. In fairness once the no trip code came out alarm bells were ringing for me all over the place.
