okay im playing battlefield pika vs marth. haven't touched him since i gave up a noble fight against the tiers.

anywho,

i did a jumping thunder shock towards the right end of battle field.
i was then trying to cover my opponents options so i charged a f-smash near the edge. now i can't recall if it happened prior or after the f-smash hit, it was all very fast. but like some super electrical hitbox just there it made a sound and everything, a weird one. it was just shocking the end of battlefield. does anyone have any idea what im talking about... sooooooooooo not making it up.

I think I know what you're talking about. You used his neutral+B, and it froze in place when it hit the ledge? I've seen it once on Battlefield, apparently it works on Jungle Japes too. No idea why it happens. :p

jolt glitch. Happens on battlefield, jungle japes, few spots on pokemon stadium (maybe elsewhere).
It occurs from precise spacing from the edge when jolting, and the jolt will get 'caught' on the edge as it tries to pass it, resulting in it repeating two frames of animation on the edge until the duration of the jolt runs out.

To see consistently, go to pokemon stadium, wait till the fire level (burning house and tree), get in the top nook of the tree, roll left and face right, jolt. It should bounce around and get caught on the ledge behind you.

can use the battlefield thingy to cover space animals who try to sweetspot the ledge going low and then gimp them with fair or will their firefox eat the jolt?

i know conventional edgeguarding would probably work better but it's all about the random tricksies that randomly take stocks.

it's generally considered to be too **** difficult to use for edgeguarding. You have to be pixel-perfect in positioning (go try it), and all it does is zap them if they go for the edge (keeping in mind lots of things go through jolt) and they can try to recover again. Pika has enough other safer and more deadly edgeguarding tools that it isn't really necessary anyhow heh.
