I'm a photographer. I'm uploading my portfolio right now.
i will post some stuff later.
I'm wondering if anyone else is a photographer around here.
we could get some chit chat going, post some stuff. critiques. techniques. etc.

Hope this is the right version ^^

Well I'm a graphic designer, but at my school they make us take digital photography as well so I do have some pictures for my portfolio as well. I can upload some if you'd like, theyre mainly part of one central theme though I had to do recently

I just found out that I lost half of my portfolio. I'm really upset. =\ it was my concentration too.
I'm doing my best to get the rest of the 9 back.
but I will post the photo that was selected to be in the AP exhibit. only 30 pieces of art was selected out of a group of 840000. :) and I haven't even been into photography for a year. xD I guess i'm doing something right, right?

well the great thing about visual arts is that you find out that you have a certain eye, and you become a natural

oh man, ive heard of one or two other photographers and or graphic designers that were the same. It's a bit rougher i assume; but it doesnt hinder your sense of composition.

btw my fav happened to be the door knob, somehow it almost looks unreal. like the knob was 3-d rendered and placed there.

Hey, so nice to see another photographer around these parts. :] I love the grungy textures and tones in your photos! I tend to be very soft and bright and colourful, so it's interesting to see such a contrast.

My photos are in the thread 'Escapism and Boredom' which I do try to keep updated but am quite lazy in doing so. Hahaa.

What camera/s are you using? :]

i will inform later,it's night time and i have to host a tourney today.

EDIT:
the pictures are from a "ghost town" called Eureka.
the place is where i got lots of stuff for my portfolio.
the Pram: the baby stroller looking thing. It was selected to be in the AP art exhibit. It was selected in a group of 30 out of 840000 pieces of art.
It is going on tour and i sadly wont get my print back till next year xD
If anyone would like to know more, go ahead and ask. i can give my insight on stuff even though i'm new to photography. i definitely know what i'm doing.

oh, and the shattered window picture has won a few awards from school to district level as well. :)

I'm also shooting with a canon 40D. I'm going to try and get the canon 50D mark II. full frame camera = love? :)

You've got a good appreciation of textures playing off eachother and colour, but watch your composition.

The first one is incredibly tense with the focal point at the top like that. See how the handle is so close to the upper format edge? Your eye will subconsciously notice that high activity area and be drawn to it, pulling away from the rest of the image. After that all your focal points are just smack bang in the center of the image creating a VERY static image.

Be a little more adventurous. Try having three subjects instead of just one.

Maria is generally a portrait photographer, but she has a great sense of off-center compositions.

story for the first photo.

pitch black. used flash, composition was nice, photoshopped slightly to bring out stuff and cropped, that's why the handle is the way it is.
I know photography obviously for getting a 5 and being selected for the AP exhibit ;) but thanks for the critiques, I haven't shot in months sadly :/
I'd like to go back to where most of the shots were and the new lens i'm getting.
