Fresh from Japan:

S: Aigis, Mitsuru
A: Teddie, Akihiko, Yu, Yosuke, Chie
B: Shadow Labrys, Labrys, Yukiko, Kanji, Naoto, Elizabeth

Also, according to stunedge, the worst match-ups in the game are most likely Mitsuru vs. Elizabeth, S. Labrys vs. Yukiko, and Elizabeth vs. Kanji, which are all probably close to 7:3.

No idea why, but I always thought the Labrys characters would be higher. I can see why Aigis, and...I suppose a bit of Mitsuru are high, but I would've thought Akihiko would be there too with all the punch combos and that Teddie would've been B. I haven't seen much if anything of Elizabeth. And to be kind of honest, I sort of would have guessed Yukiko to be mid A.

Well, I mean, this stuff may change over time as people discover new things about their characters.

The Labrys characters are weird because they're actually kind of slow comparatively, and they have very specific conditions to play them effectively imo. Shabby needs to play Asterios well, and Labby needs to keep the momentum or she loses a lot of damage potential. As for Akihiko, they patched out his punch loops, so that they can only be done of fatals now, and he probably has some pretty polarizing match-ups against zoners. Teddie is surprisingly good, from what I've seen, and Teddie players have figured out some really good stuff with him so far. I feel like Elizabeth has some flaws that keep her from being super good. Like her R Action is a grab that can be teched, I think. And Yukiko either needs more development or she's just plain mediocre.

I dunno, people generally seem to think that Yukiko sucks, haha.

Oh, they took out a bunch of times that his punch loops can be done? In that case I can really understand that affecting him. And I also admit that me thinking the Labrys-ee would be at a certain tier position had more to do with character type/etc than with seeing actual gameplay as I admittedly have only seen snips here or there, as opposed to seeing a lot of Yu/Kanji/Chi/Brosuke/Mitsuru.

Those match-up values may change with time, but I think it's still a pretty fair assessment based on what we've seen out of the game so far.

Do you think they'll put out frame data eventually? I'm burning to know what kinda frame advantage Mitsuru has with her moveset. It just seems like almost everything she does is safe.

The P4A mook that came earlier this month didn't include any of the good stuff like hitboxes or frame data.
Which means we'll probably get a wiki of frame data whenever the community gets to it after the game's out.

Here is a little bit of behind the scenes of Voice Recording.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2e_RPJfKe4

Would have been cool to see more imo.

Anyways, here is the rest of the cast's movesets with English VA.
Teddie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qelgIq_yRM
Shadow Labrys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnqW0iVrdKQ
Elizabeth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xy2FV06862g
Labrys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FkfQ6zCEeI

And here is a simple character guide with a rundown of all the character's strengths and weaknesses along with a match video showing off good use of that character, nice if you are still deciding who you might want to play.

Oh yeah, a someone I know(Kurushii) near Tampa is receiving the game tomorrow morning and he will be doing nightly streams for the community if y'all feel like watching. Kurushii does a lot for the dustloop/mayonaka midnight communities. I thought I'd spread the word for him a little. Here's a link to his stream(which is in HD):

Am I possibly right in assuming that's Brosuke and uh...Teddie's VA?
Just Yosuke.

I was already going to pre-order at the first 2 or 3 days of August (aka last minute), but that's a cool little bonus they're throwing in.

Kurushii released a bunch of HD screenies along with some little tidbits(like PSR appearing under your name in ranked as well as replays lol)over twitter earlier. You can take a look here:

http://kurushii.tv/P4U/Screenshots/

He's recording challenge mode for a bunch of characters as well and they hopefully be uploaded to jourdal's YT channel if he can get them done before work.

enjoy~

Thanks Lythium.

Wow, I didn't realize how much I'd appreciate not having Awakening the Chaos for the Netplay menu music.

I'm glad it's not someone's battle theme again.

When the game's out, does anyone want to do a lobby practice session that night? Or does everyone want to just stay on offline modes for awhile?
I'm up for whatever, but learning matchups and stuff sounds like fun too.

And thanks for the links, arturefo. Now I finally know which normals were which.

Well, since you two miss it so much, I can start singing it when I play you or Lythi.

And Minato, I'd be all for that except I'll have to wait 2-3 days for it to ship here, even if the town with the Amazon.ca office is a 7 hour drive from my house.

Edit: Just noticed Smooth Criminal's post despite it being before Minato's. Oops.

Hey, I like Awakening the Chaos. :3

Anyway, I'm probably going to hit up training mode for the first couple days first. I have a launch tournament the following Saturday to prepare for though, so I might need some match-up experience.

I keep getting confused on that because I keep hearing "yes" "no" "yes " no" to whether there's a Training or Practice mode in the game and I kind of want it to come out just so I can get a definitive answer one way or the other.

Yes, there is training mode. It's been confirmed.

Also, what kind of fighting game wouldn't have training mode?

There is a training mode. Kurushii uploaded screenshots of it which is in Two-Ell's post.

Sorry, Minato! D:

Also, some stuff that ASW has included this time around, according to Kurushii:
- 8 player lobby
- AutoPass function for lobby
- Win Limit function for lobby (for the people that complain when LK wins)
- PSR and Title shows in all matches
- Loading is faster than BBCSEX without even being installed. When installed it's crazy fast on load times.
- Training Mode corner moving with Select+Direction
- Better laid out Training Mode menu

Neat!

Oh sweet, that sounds awesome. And a potential 8 player lobby could be great if all parties involved have decent connections.

And yeah...sorry bout the stupid Training mode bit. I have no idea why I thought there wasn't.

I'm glad they're using this feature since it was nice in Marvel. My only complaint in ArcSys games is that they need a rematch option.
Other than that, saving offline matches, save states, and recover/reversals option in training mode (like Melty does) would be icing on the cake.

I'll be trying out everything day one, including Netplay, I'm up for this.

I like Awakening the Chaos as well, but I've heard it so much that it just isn't fun anymore. :urg:

I'll take Blues in Velvet Room over it for a menu music any day though.

I want to try several characters, but right now Elizabeth, Yukiko and Aigis look most appealing to me (in that order).

If I'm home, I'd be down for a day one lobby.

I'm gonna focus on Elizabeth the most. She gives off that Rachel vibe where she just doesn't care.

Aigis and Naoto are the next ones I'll focus on.

It's been awhile since I've been in that mood to go all out on a game and focus on it. I can't wait.
I can't remember the last game where I wanted to invest a lot of time into.
