Perfect Waveshines

I'm trying to work on perfect waveshines. It seems like I airdodge even when I angle the control stick slightly below the middle notches of the controller. Is this because i'm not airdodging frame perfect or what? I'm thinking that the perfect wavedash position for the control stick is in the middle of the middle notch and the notch below it. Can anyone help me with this, because I think it's a requirement for Thunders' Combo that you can perfect waveshine on command (More specifically reverse Thunders').

It should be obvious when you do a perfect wavedash/waveshine. I just know how far Fox goes and the timing so I can tell how I mess up. Make sure you have the 4-frame wavedash timing down before you work on the angle, because you might have the right angle but if you don't do the 4-frame wavedash you will just airdodge.

You don't have to perfect waveshine for Thunder's combo against Fox/Falco. Against some of the other characters you do, or you have to get close (Jigglypuff). More important than doing a perfect distance waveshine is doing it on the first possible frame, and jabbing on the first possible frame. If your waveshine is a good distance and you waveshine early and jab early, there are some frames of forgiveness. Your timing (4-frame wavedash) is more important than the angle as this affects how soon you are allowed to jab. It's hard to do Thunder's combo if you don't do a 4-frame wavedash.

you just need a more precise timing for pressing R. you can do it w/ the control stick perfectly horizontal if the frame you leave the ground is the frame you air dodge.

could not have said it better myself but yeah i agree , you just have to train your reactions to pressing the trigger when you jump it really is straight forward

pretty sure you can. I'll make sure tomorrow.
Should have just said: "Money Match?"

Perfect wavedashing out of a shine is really kinda unnecessary. What is important is getting out of the shine, after that you can just run and JC grab/up smash.

lol. I'm right though. You can't wavedash with the stick horizontal. You can wavedash with the stick slightly below horizontal, but if you try with the stick against the notch it won't work, ever.

Falcon kick.
Errrrr... Ya whoever said dodge into the ground earlier is completly right.
thats pretty much it, other than that I think you're actually talking about wavedashing "far". Well most of the time you dont just wavedash to do a waveshine combo, it actually involves a little bit of walking as well, in fact the initial wavedash is just to really get u going in the right direction and cancel out the shine, you dont have to worry about doing an extremely far wavedash after a shine.

Joot knows how to wavedash...and you can't walk from a reverse wavedash. Well you can but it's slow and pointless.
