Perfect Pivot Tilts and their Combo Applications

Hey guys, gonna be doing a perfect pivot compendium for the cast. I won't be starting at the top but my first video is of sheik.


Next will be detailing Little Mac and his perfect pivot advantages.

As I add footage per character, please let me know what characters you wish to see ( I'll do it if they have decent Perfect pivot application)!

I felt like the DI part needs a bit more research, as it's pretty easy to DI away from combo starters with proper DI or vector (unless its a successful true combo starter). I have avoided a good amount of D-throws from Mii Brawler to save my hide and my stock.

Also just one more thing, now I may be wrong since I never really bothered to use Perfect Pivoting in a Smash battle, but the reason PP is never used a lot is the fact that... Well, it's difficult to pull off.

Performing PP isn't as simple as "Jab > Jab > D-Throw > Fair" or pressing two buttons to slide across the stage. It requires a precise movement with the L-stick. A quick move and a flick, this is one of the main issues because the "flick" has to be very fast, and if your thumb isn't fast enough, you mess it up, and it happens more often then you think. To make things worse, it can actually make your thumb sore from using it too much, and it sucks for those with carpel tunnel syndrome (Someone needs to find a cure to that. Seriously)

The second main issue is that typical PP combos requires your opponent to be still and close to you, and I don't remember the last time I saw a tourney were one of the players didn't move their character very much.

Great video, the last portion should be fleshed out more... if one of the opponents options to escape is to simply nair that's actually a big deal because that's a commonly used option

Its not hard, it just takes practice and muscle memory to get used to it. And I don't get your second main issue very much, maybe you need to reiterate a bit more.. :/

I think falco could be good. ex. dthrow pp utilt for one or punishing a jab sequence with it.
