I have no clue why you think your fighting Marth like that for. the only think they both have is range, thats it. Marth has more power from distance. Roy has it up close. But they still have more range than you. And the only attack that can give Peach trouble is his F-B time
And that can be easily stopped by crouch cancel. So its hard as it is.

If Im at a certain range of your sword and did Not CC to begin with, or lil above the ground, no I cant, or else I would never allow you to finish the move

Drk.Pch, it has zero knockback if you CC it. So, while he might be able to get the full thing off, he can never kill with it, and, as such, it is not a threat. You can also CC a sweetspot fsmash and live to insane percents. Really, his best move is his neutral b, and normally, only in the air. It's his only move with true range, and alright knockback.

Why would you be in the zone where he could hit you with f-b in the air, anyway? You should float just above it, if at all. This is a battle where you should control the ground, because the air is already yours.

The key to fighting Marth is to stay either outside of tipper range or inside where you can clank...if you try that with Roy you're just going to get sweetspotted if you're inside his range. That's why you're losing.

Just get him off the stage, eat his jump, and win.

Poor roy... he never stood a chance...

he literally has nothing on peach, not even range, because a non sweetspotted anything from roy agianst peach is pretty much phail.

He still has range when it comes to his sword.

And you're right as usual NinjaLink. I do need to work out my tactics. Really, I don't face a lot of Roys (or even often), so I am clueless with the matchups at times. The only way for me to really get better against Roy with peach is to face him often and try new tactics.

Oh no... i'm not critquing your abilities, just as an old roy player I understand his down falls, I also played agianst peach a few times with roy, he literally gets owned in the matchup, all of peaches attacks should beable to get around or completely destroy roys attacks, especially his gawd awful fsmash, you can go right through the top and get a free n-air

you shouldnt need a terrible amount of vs roy practice...

getting good with peach in general... it will follow that you own characteres like IC's, roy, and mewtwo.

I like how Jihnsius got and then left this topic to avoid further embarrassment. What a tool.

Just because one of the best Peachs in the world beat one of the best Roys doesn't mean that the matchup is bad for Roy. More players are average in metagame and not professional quality, which goes without saying. Taking someone's advice on professional quality metagame advice when asking for advice on metagame at a lesser level isn't very helpful.

I personally chose to exclude myself from this argument because it's going nowhere. I gave my advice and got flamed for it, so what's the point in trying to argue it? No matter what factual evidence I bring to the situation you're just going to have an ignorant view on it and side against me due to an extremely biased conclusion brought about by someone else with a higher post count.

Or maybe some of us are intimate with this matchup, ever think of that?

CC is ALL you need to beat Roy with Peach. If that weren't enough, she can turnip spam him to hell, outprioritize him, **** his ****ty recover, and, yes, even outspace him.

I like Roy, he's fun to play, and he does alright against some characters, but he is garbage. I used to think 5150 was just an *******, but he's an ******* about it for a reason. Roy players seem to think far too highly of their character.

Way to side step the issue by attacking ****** things like flaming and taking sides. Nobody was taking sides based on post counts anyway.

but moving on.

ROFL are you seriously still trying to argue that roy can do even remotely well versus peach? Now its just sad. The fact of the matter is that you gave horrible advice/horrible answer. Roy is complete garbage vs peach, get over it.

BTW, metagame by its definition implies the top level. And regardless, giving advice based on mediocre levels of play is bad anyway because that encourages people to trap themselves at a scrub level, only learning ways to counter scrub tactics. But regardless Roy fails versus peach at pretty much any level. What a failed argument.

First off, I'll say this.

Ninja-link? Nice Wavedashin. Good ****.

As far as Roy vs Peach....Yeah..no. Peach can absolutely destroy poor Roy without breaking a sweat. I've been to tourneys with Roy and fought absolutely garbage Peach's and either lost, or struggled to win. I'd honestly just as well switch characters.

Peach has everything over Roy. Far better Air game, better moves, less lag, hella priority, a very lethal throw system. Roy has....better..grab..range? That's probably about it. He could technically have longer range, but Peach has so much better priority than he does, it's point is moot. Plus Peach has turnips and Roy can only dodge/smack/get hit by them because he has no projectiles...

And when it comes down to the nitty gritty, Smash is about killling your opponent by knocking them off the stage. Roy only realistically has Horizontal KO's which Peach excels in returning from. He has a spike but against any experienced player will know how to get out of..and...virtually no Vertical KO moves. In fact his top three worst Character Matchups all have this ability. Jiggs, Samus and Peach can all recover Horizontally well, two of them have powerful projectiles and the third has perhaps the most air priority in the game. He honestly doesn't stand a chance.

Combine all of that with Peach's CC limiting Roy's power moves and the solution is clear.

Peach has the deciscive advantage here. The only way Roy's going to win is by outskilling and outplaying his opponent, which looks to be the case here. Just train up on your Peach's mindgame/Techgame skills and Roy shouldn't be much of a problem.

Perfectly said. Only way i can win without struggling is if i kno exactly what ur gonna do and in this case i did. BTW roy does have vertical killing moves. Upthrow at the right percent, Upsmash, and Dsmash which should be ur killing move against peach. But that was dreamland so no fun there.
