If you have a video (which you do) it would help (which it will).
Also I wish this thread was sticked instead of some of the dead ones. :(

G&W/MK is sooooo easy online compared to offline.

And it's pretty damn fun offline.

Guys, I know Snake isn't that bad, but I'm just terribad at the MU. Like, I have these shining moments, but then, BAM! Utilt to the face, outranging my fair. Huge anti-momentum move.
Help.

Smiley, I don't know how effective training online will be. Since it's...online. Do you really have no other tucson smashers near you?

I've been playing with Dark Shifter, and a little bit with Saffy. I feel like I'm getting a LOT better. I'm calling a spot on the next AZ PR. At least, if I can make it to the next tournies. I don't really want to drive all the way to Pheonix...

I hate the Snake matchup too. Like, I've done well in a few matches, but most of the time, his tilts get me. I'm not so scared of Marth anymore. And MK wasn't too much of a problem for me.

Snake is my least favorite matchup.

I usually cop-out and use Link/Wolf vs Snake. Snake's Utilt's attack area out ranges Link's Fsmash1 on level ground. It's absurdly broken.

Online is legit. Lots of people train online including top players, The lag makes you rely on hard reads and stuff. I would assume a mixture of online and offline practice would helop me a WHOLE lot. And no I have nobody worth playing near me. I only see Kyle and those guys at smashfests every once in a while and at tourneys

Edit @ Sylarius: Oh wow, a 69. Just when I thought that'd be impossible. Also, your tag is really similar to my real name: Zetarius.

Interesting.
And also, the scene close to me is dead as well, there's an occasional smashfest and that's all. No PR or tournaments because of how small the scene is.
Too bad =(

One of our top players hadn't attended on offline tourney for almost a year. So next time he came to a tourney, he had only been playing wifi.

He dropped one game.

Yeah wifi's not like offline but that doesn't mean it's worthless or can't be legit. I admit the varying lag makes it hard to judge skill (or even play properly:urg: sometimes) but good connections really are based on skill. It's not a black and white offline>wifi. There are many levels that need to be taken in to consideration. Offline>great connection wifi>>normal wifi (green)>>>>>>bad but playable wifi>>Offline CPU opponents>>>>>>>>>>>>Unplayable wifi http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRLBunrWTRI (lol, remember that? I just kept it as a joke.)

I think the trick to using G&W in bad lag is string together attacks based on momentum and being aggressive rather than reading the traditional way which uses reaction. G&W's moves are good and once he connects the opponent will still be dealing with the previous attack when the next starts. Smashes aren't blockable on reaction and become great punishers for landings etc.

I've never played online before, mostly because I have heard absolutely terrible things about the lag (especially in my region).

Have any of you noticed whether using a USB-ethernet adapter helps at all? The connection at my university is pretty good so I was thinking of trying it out soon, but should I use an adapter?

I just realized how bad the gaw-Snake MU is...

There's this guy, the champion of our last tournament who mains Snake. I got 2-stocked by his Snake. =( I also realize how hard to play against a good Snake is. Bomb preassuring me like that to his grab and tilts is amazing. It's artistic. It's awesome to see pros use Snake.

You've realized how bad you are at the snake match-up, not how bad the match-up itself is. Don't blow it off as something independent of yourself. THE HARD TRUTH

It's driving me crazy! it'd be funny if it wasn't so d*** annoying! I'll upload a pic if i can find my camra

GW Boards da bess.

I just lol'd for some reason.

Oh yeah, I have hella replays... (at least it feels like it) to upload at some point this week. I took my suicides to the next level this tourney I think.

I really need to fix that =/

Played one of our newer AZ GWs, too.

I have a Regional Smashfest/Tourney next weekend. SO HYPE. Maybe I'll get on stream so ya'll can watch my suicides live.

That new AZ G&W can help with replays if you want.

But my god, when you talked about how bad GnW dittos were, I thought you were just being overdramatic, because I've played some of my friends at school in dittos (even though they don't use GnW) and I found it to be quite fun. But after playing you, I understand how horrible it is, makes me want to strangle puppies.

^April fools! Aside from 1 other person, this was the only social who commented at all (posted on G&W,PT,Link,Wolf,Zelda socials). I'm a little disappointed from the lack of responses but no one called me on it being an April fools prank either:ohwell:.

Well obviously information moves a lot faster through wire than thin air. The difference is amazing.

Man, I was so depressed yesterday, I failed a REALLY important test for my job yesterday and it threw my world upside down for a little bit. My supervisors werent as hard as I thought they would be though because i'm a hard worker, so it wasn't as devastating as it could have been.

Still though, I can't fail it again or I get kicked outta the military =/

I score 90+ on the pretests, but what basically happened is when I was taking the test, my test is WAYY longer than the other people taking it and I was the last person left and felt really awkward since i still had like 40 questions to go so i just started to rush and my score went to ****

Next time i'm gonna calm down and take my time, because I know the info I just didn't read the questions thoroughly. I know this isnt my blog and you don't care but still, i'm too embarrassed to let people i actually know, know i failed.

^Sorry, that sucks :( . I test well but take longer than other people to do so.

Just curious, if you're okay telling, what position are you trying for?
I have a friend who's training/studying to be in a medical unit. IDK the details. (D***, I need to write him.)

I'm already in. In order to advance to my next level though I have to do a mixture of book stuff and on the job training. I fix radios, radar, gps, communication/navigation stuff on planes.

I'm doing my job already but I also gotta do book stuff while I do it.
