You seem a lot better than before, so good job at improving.

General improvements would to stop rolling completely (spot dodge or upB is always a better option), don't use chef so much, and don't spam so much dsmash, even though it was working kinda well for you.

Always tap it twice real fast if you want to use bacon, never once. If you use it once and you're bad, you might buffer it and kill yourself. If you tap it twice it can never buffer.

If it get's buffered pressing B while you do will "override" it for some reason and you will only pump one more sausage

Still sucks but you wont end up killing yourself offstage

I remember one time I was in a tournament using a ****ed up controller, and when I went to bucket break instead of bucket buffered chef came out. So then I fell like halfway down the screen and MK had his way with me. It was a sad day.

I like chef, I use it sparingly, but i've pulled off some nice edgeboosted pan semispikes with it

And also frame traps (By people who were more afraid of my bacon than Usmash lol) and combos into Fair

Although it never works out for me against the big character like it should, they always have the exact arc in which they'd be useless and then i end up getting whacked by something =/

Hi everyone! I see a lot of familiar =), ****, etc faces lol. I used to go by 'Arizen' and tried G&W for a while. After learning other characters like Zelda, Wolf, PT (who I dropped), aside from Link I have a better sense of how characters work and am picking up G&W again.

My G&W is still a scrub but I've got his dynamics down better.

uhh less bacon lol. Only good for occasional mixups, like when your opponent's offstage, or when you're planking,sorta LOL. Your spacing and reaction time needs some work, you missed a number of opportunities to follow up. You had a few good juggles but you ended up getting hit in the end anyway. Also Uair more
Spacing is most important though as G&W. Get down the spacing and duration of all his aerials so you know exactly when to do them,instead of throwing out a sloppy bair/fair where you're opponent just rolls behind you or spot dodges. I know that feel bawww.

Also Dtilt more in the falco MU, tho i don't rly know it that well myself lol.

Disagree. Its limited but giving us a projectile zonjng tool in addition to our disjoints is really useful

Its slow but definitely workable into gw's game

Olimar is suuuuuch bull****

Watching old replays and just watching his *** makes me rage so hard

He's so stupid.

I have an Olimar replay, and it really steams me that I lost on Frigate. If I'm not sure what to do, I end up doing stupid things like rolling and smashing.

I just don't even bother using GW against Olimars anymore. The only one I really get a chance to play is an Olimar that played Today a lot, so I just use Falco instead of GW.

I'm not sure how to improve my GW at this point. May drop him. If I go to another tournament anytime soon, I'll get some videos and ask for advice here hopefully.

Lol the olimar MU isn't terrible.

Work on G&W's ground game more,or Dtilt in other words. Dtilt is rly underused in the match up. Especially works well against olimars that like to hide under platforms like in BF,it tips them offstage then you'll have the advantage. It can also clash with their grab range sometimes(not sure on this). Single jabs are also useful. Yes, olimar does **** up G&W easily if we make a mistake but we can also do the same :T...like a certain match up we used to think badly about

I'm pretty sure Grab beats D-tilt. Olimars have an upsmash and upair that beats all of our options from above. Olimar is less liable to mistakes though. Olimar just has to camp Pikmin and react to what we do. If we bair, we get grabbed. If we dair, we get uair'd. If we try to rush in with a nair, we can get OoS Usmash'd right when or right before we land (not too sure about this, but OoS Usmash ruins a lot of our options).

How do we get grabbed if we use bair? From my experience the turtle just kills the grabbing pikmin.

G&W can't be forced to approach olimar( unless olimar is in the lead,then yes I'll agree on that). On an even basis though,pikmin spam can be easily avoided with either upb or again...Dtilt. This is where you go back to focusing on G&W's ground game. Of course G&W is going to be punished for an approach your opponent is expecting lol,why would you be rushing in with nair?:l
Also bair isn't completely useless, if you use the last hit to shield poke(with good spacing),you upb and they can't grab you.

And yes, usmash OoS is a problem in the match up if they do it consistently, unfortunately.

Anyway,I'm not saying the match up is even or anything lol,but it certainly isn't as bad as some of our worst match ups. G&W can easily turn the tables if olimar makes a mistake as well, just olimar does a better job of it.

We can't just sit there and dtilt every pikmin they're throwing at us. Eventually we'll get one on us, and that just starts adding more and more percents. If we're worrying about pikmin getting on us, then that gives the Olimar a chance to wreck our **** if we make one mistake.

We can't even up-b that much. Olimar can jump up and u-air us on reaction, fair us on prediction, or try to predict where we'll land and throw pikmin there or grab us.

Bair isn't a safe option if he can just grab or fair us.

Nair because I honestly don't know what to do besides sit there and do jab tricks/down tilt. Bair, Dair, and Up-b all don't work too well at all.

It's not that Olimar has to predict it. He can punish all of our approaches on reaction except a well spaced bair, but even then the follow up we use could get punished on reaction, even if we're not being predictable.

Actually yes,i can just sit there and Dtilt and upb,it has worked plenty of times lol. If they decide to attempt and punish my upb landing with uair,that's good, I've succeeded in making olimar approach me lol. G&W has ways of landing safely,if olimar is really punishing you every time you're trying to land then that's a problem :T. Once I've gotten him to approach me,all really need is one hit on him to get him in the air and it's a 30-40%+ juggle on him.

If your approaches aren't working, you're being predictable. Idk what else to say <,<.
Try something else.
G&W is all gimmicks afterall lol.

(I'm saying all of this based on what I've seen. I don't even want to bother playing the matchup... it just looks so hopeless compared to Falco LOL.)

I lose with everyone vs him. Ive never beaten olimar in tourney set and ive never beaten one on rc funny enough. Im not being outplayed I just suck at the matchup. With mk, peach, gdubs.
