It doesn't matter if there are too many mario characters. They are good characters. Would you leave out a perfectly cool Paper Mario and stick in Hello Kitty? And doopliss would be a little bit pointless. Why not just pick the same character that the other person picks?

You could use Doopliss's power on Adventure Mode and just pick your favorite character in Vs. But he is still a pretty wierd character........ Has any body fought the Master at his full strength? Just asking...

I agree that Doopliss would be pointless in a 1 on 1 fight, but in a 3 or 4 person melee, it might be more interesting with him in. And I won't say that the other Mario characters aren't good, it's just that we could use that space to have characters to represent other games instead of having a bunch of versions of Mario all over the place. If they were gonna have like 50+ characters, then I'd be more inclined to not care if their are clones cuz there's still plenty of room for those other characters, too, but for this game there will probably only be a limited number of new characters.

Yeah I guess I agree. But I still support Geno in Brawl. They can have him represent Square or something.... His symbol cold be Exor (I got that idea from somebody) the sword on the title screen. Jr. Troopa and the Master would be pretty cool as well though. Maybe even the Shadow Queen from Paper Mario 2 would of been a cool idea, or least it could be an alternate costume for Peach.

Since McFox refused to provide the link to the topic, and instead says to search for it, here's a bump.

Seriously, I've known moderators who actually take the effort to provide the links, with the addition to search for the topic next time.

It's just mario but 2D, why not add in Paper Bowser, Paper Peach and Paper Luigi, they should just be alternate costumes, even if they could have original movesets

No, because they're all supporting characters. Have you even played a Paper Mario game before? If you have, then you know how different Paper Mario is from Mario, enough to warrant him being a newcomer.

There's already a ton of Mario characters in the game already. How many do you need?
And yeah, we don't need 50 different Mario's in the game. Regular Mario will do just fine.

I'm not going to read 20 pages right now, so I appologize if this has been brought up, but why doesn't Mario use his hammer at all in smash a la Mario RPG, M&L:SSS and Paper Mario. Giving him a hammer for his forward smash would be b****in'.

No, no he isn't. Hell, the only thing I can think of that's different about Paper Mario to any other Mario is that he uses a hammer, and even then, Mario uses hammers in the sports games and the other RPG games in his normal form.

I like Paper Mario (especially PM2) just as much as the next guy, but Paper Mario himself is just a flat out stupid idea for a character. If you really feel that a 2D version of Mario deserves to be a fully fledged character more than say, Geno, Toad and Fawful, than your beyond help in my eyes.

Unless, say, he's a costume. But that's not what you people are suggesting, is it?:ohwell:

Nah, there's better Mario characters(the ones Muffin listed), and that would mean 2 Mario's, isn't that the reason why everyone wants Doc removed?

I think I would prefer one of the paper mario charecters instead of him himself. They would have to have arms so. That would narrow it down to Vivian, Flurrie, Koops, or that yoshi thing you got to name. and since. I would like to see vivian. She could use her fire power and veil.

Vivian did show up on the poll but she has no legs witch make jumping wierd as hell. Plus, who revived this thread? Someone must of digged through like 10 pages or something to get this on the front page again.

It would definitely be interesting and a lot of people seem to agree with you on it.

But... I don't mind if he does make it, but I wouldn't prefer him over others.

Oh, all right. Just keep me out of it, or not. w/e. I couldn't care less if they have him in Brawl. I guess that'd be cool though.

Thanks. I have to agree with you, I hate mario clones.. Cept for Luigi. *runs away from all Dr. Mario fans* Even though paper mario could have his own moveset, technically he'd still be another mario. not a clone, though.

I'd personally want to see Paper Mario make it into Brawl, and see Dr. Mario leave. Paper Mario would have a unique moveset, and by getting rid of Doc, there would be the same amount of Marios. =] (Maybe Doc could still be an AT...)

Right behind you with a knife.
La di da~

Neutral B: PM takes out his hammer, and starts to spin his paper body around, charging up his hammer swing. Eventually he will stop spinning, but unlike Roy or Marth, it can be held down as long as wanted. The change can’t be moved with like DK, meaning PM will still be holding the change, but not moving. Once released, he’ll spin around with his hammer, hitting both sides.

Forward B: PM spin-dashes forward. The move will not only advance him, but also send any projectile the opposite direction as well. If a opponent is hit by his spinning, they will not take damage, but they will become dizzy.

Up B: Paper Mario turns into a paper plane, and floats on the wind currents. His ability to recover is dependant on the weather of the stage. On a normal stage, his recovery will not be hampered, and he fly a bit forward, before he starts to spiral down. On a stormy stage, he can either float long with the wind, or less, against. If he hits the ground, he’ll transform back. The form is rather defenseless, and the only way to attack is to hit the opponent with the nose of the plane.

Down B: PM folds down on the ground. Regular attacks can’t hurt him in this form, but he can be damaged if he is walked on. He can only stay down on the ground for the same time as Kirby’s stone. He can pop out of it faster though, but if he uses it to long, he’ll sag when getting back up, and be open to attack.

FS: PM grows into a large 8-bit Mario, which isn’t as big as its SPM counterpart, but will damage opponents on contact, much like a hammer.

i was thinking of a paper mario moveset but it's hard too many possibilities

b-hammer spin, fire drive, spin,
b side- airplane, fleep, kooper,
b down- boomer, quake hammer, dottie, tube mode
b up, spring jump, parakarry, various badges like tornado jump

and don't even start on the a moves since he has great flexible capabilities, a hammer, jump attacks, and more friends/pixels

so making an original moveset is quite easy

however i think that the two most plausible contendors in the mario universe is bowser jr, and toad so chances are dry

Bowser Jr. and Toad?

Paper Mario would be a much better character then Bowser Jr. Imagine Paper Kirby! :chuckle:

I don't really see how you could get much of a moveset out of Toad. If a good one has been created I'd like to see it.

I'm definitely for Paper Mario being in SSBB. He may be Mario, but he wouldn't be a clone in any way.

well it's just nintendo's habit of puting in characters that are important to a series

bowser jr. is in basically every game since sunshine

toad don't want him but it's so nintndo like to put him in (just a nagging feeling)
