Bright Powder and Scope Lens aren't considered Hax Items since their effects are constant, they're usually allowed(It's also why "Items that raise evasion are not banned" is in the Evasion Clause). Also, on Shoddybattle, Yawn will go through if your opponent already has a sleeping pokemon, but whatever it hits wont fall asleep. Hypnosis, Spore, Sing, etc will all fail if you attempt to use them while your opponent has a sleeping pokemon, HOWEVER, it doesn't stop you from using it on an already sleeping opponent, so if you're slower than them and they wake up as you use it it will still go through.
There is no Hax Item Clause on shoddy just because it wont let you use items that are already considered banned.
Also, when starting a battle, make sure these clauses are off:
-Extended Game Clause
-Item Clause
-Random Battle
-Level Balance
There is also an additional clause on Shoddybattle called Strict Damage Clause. This clause makes it so you can never do more damage than your opponent has remaining health. The idea is that it a) more closely resembles the game and b) allows you to keep information like Boosting items secret for as long as possible. This clause is turned on during ladder matches, whether you want to make it a rule or not is up to you Brenden.
