this is chibo btw

uhhhh.... yea i thought me and .com were organizing this? when did scar kind of move into this? im gonna email (and call) drexel on monday to set up the biweeklies (along with cot 4 and 5 btw) and il have the venue secured always, doing it consistantly. and as much as some people dont want to, we need alternate melee and brawl. melee because its awesome and amazing, and brawl to help revive the brawl scene here in pa which is kinda strugglin. we also have a bunch of new drexel students coming in a couple weeks that play both games, and i want to tailor to everyone. i have some more individual plans also for this which i will be talking to a couple of you about in the near future for help.

I am interested. And unfortunatly, I went from decent to pure garbage in Melee, so I'll probably do only Brawl tournaments because I have no job yet.

And I could probably get some other people to come as well. Do you think an N64 tournament as a side event could work? Or is there not enough interest around here?

well if Vex comes i'm sire we could put aside at least 1 tv. If not i''ll bring one myself
Either way I have a set - up if someone picks me up.
Put .Com down for 1 Set - up.

The more people you can bring the better everything would be.

A tournament is a tournament Chibo, I don't see why you care who's organizing it or not, just do what makes sense. Are you honestly going to pay Drexel $x just to have the spotlight? I think that's a terrible idea.

If you have a free and equally convenient venue right there then take it. Anything you are a part of in Melee I'm probably going to be a part of and vice versa, that's what a community is all about.

"When did Scar kind of move into this." Honestly tell me you wouldn't ask me to bring TVs. I'm implicitly a part of this and I'm just trying to help.

Edit: Also, you know what would be best for me? Not hosting anything and not bringing my TVs. So if you think you have all this under control then that's fine, and you can transport my TVs too, they're available to you whenever you need them, I just don't want to have anything to do with it besides getting up late, showering, eating breakfast, and then entering singles, unless Pakman goes in which case Blue Lazer will dominate teams too.

Eggm can just help me with SPOC, which will occur hopefully whenever someone wants a break from running biweeklies.

**** the drama let's get this **** started soon.
With both of you having different venues i'd much rather use the one who could get started the soonest.

Scar do you have any idea of when would be a good date to start?

Nothing is soon enough and that's fine.
But within the next month would be more than ideal. Friday's at 6?
As far as I know most people are out of class at that time.
or should we move it to the weekend.

theres no way weekends can be done consistantly, they would be getting canceled left and right because of people having to go to other big tournies like ecrc or anmc ones, or other ones. theres practically never tournies on a friday so if they are done then, theres never any conflicts. thats how rutgers did their weeklies last school year and everything went great over there.

if i do em i would like to start october 3rd. i would consider sept 26th but thats the first week drexel starts school, so i figure waiting an extra week for everything to settle down might be a good idea. or does everyone not think the 26th would matter

I'd say the third. Because the other date is the first week ALOT of people start school, so i'd rather wait until everyone is settled in.

Plus that way people can convince some freshman to come.

The 3rd works better for me. The weekend of the 26th is homecoming, which means my parents are coming to visit. Which means I won't be attending any tournaments for that weekend.

Fridays personally work better for me because that will allow me to attend the event during track season every once in a while, since track meets are every Saturday.

@Pakman: Do you still play Dr. Mario?

I'd try to make it to some of these if you guys are going to be playing brawl. I'm new to the smash scene, never played melee. I'm trying to get some experience playing against other people, I only know one person who plays.. If I showed up would people be down to just play some friendlies? or are these weeklies just miniature tournament type things?

I'm about an hour from philly by train. Drexel is like walking distance from 30th street station right?

I think 20th street station is ON drxel campus.
Whevere we decide to have it (final decisions being made now) it is DEFINITELY walking distance from 30th street station.
When you get there, you could most likely give someone a call ( I can give you Chibo's number) and we can send someone to walk you from the station.
