Does anyone disagree with making Haxless Garchomp the standard?

Sure, I don't argue, but I vote that making Haxless Garchomp is like getting rid of Latios' Levitate, it hinders it a LITTLE, but ****, it doesn't change anything.

Changing Latios' ability and Garchomp's ability are two completely different topics: Latios would be uber regardless, whereas Garchomp's is the one thing keeping him out of OU. Also, Garchomp's can't be planned for, while Latios' can.

I don't want to make a hasty(+speed, -defense) decision on making Garchomp our standard. Ultimario, you seem to not enjoy the idea: care to share your input? I don't care if it's good or bad logic, I just want to understand the logic and hope to appease you of your doubts. =)

sand viel isn't the only thing keeping garchomp ubers
it's just about swampert on roids

it's bulkier, hits harder, has better STAB, faster, and it's speed is an obnoxious speed of base 102

sand viel will make him easier to deal with yes
but he's still a friggen monster with yache berry (as he'll never get OHKO'd)

OK. That's what makes Garchomp the "best", right? That's what makes him the beast that he is.

And there are three pokemon that are as good as him: Scizor, Salamence, and Tyranitar. Metagross was before Rotom-a came into the equation...

By making Chomp the standard, we now have to focus on making pokemon such as Dragonite as good as him. If we gave Dragonite Swords Dance, combined with Extremespeed, he can give Garchomp a run for his money. Maybe he would need more, but that's why we are discussing it.

And if we make everyone as good as Garchomp, how does he stand out as broken? He'll just be the "standard" pokemon.

With the buffs we are going to give to pokemon, its pretty understandable to bring Garchomp back in. Sharpedo discourages the use of dragons to some degree. Just wait until we buff Cloyster too :3 Then any non mixed Dragon is going to have a hell of a time.

Cloyster still has water moves. Once we buff his HP he won't fear Garchomp either.
