I wouldn't call those communities split down the middle. Or even close to being such.

I see no game in that list that's lasted more than 3 years. Sure, franchises, but...
When it comes to traditional fighters, you might as well count the franchises. Before patching became easy to do on consoles, developers essentially had to release a new game any time they tried to change the balance. The games are similar enough that there isn't any real reason not to switch to the newest version.

Of course, with the advent of patching, new releases aren't always needed. In fact, the arcade "sequel" to Blazblue CS, CS2, is just going to be a balance patch on consoles (supposedly, but we haven't heard anything for a while).

I still can't wait for the true sequel because of the story elements, but hey, that's just me. The story of BB is one of the reasons why I love it so much more than Brawl, Street Fighter, or any other fighting-styled game.

BB's story is ******** and so ridiculously convoluted that once you finish it you still have no clue wtf is going on.

Buut, that's describing every anime plot ever, so eh.

Huh? I actually found it to be quite clear. Of course, CS was a massive improvement from CT in terms of how clear it was.

I have to use a distortion to win every match in CT to get good endings? No. ****ing. Thanks.

Smash has had three games. Not a balance patch between them (unless you count PAL-type stuff, which is only noticeable in Melee AFAIK and is a region thing more than a balance patch).

Also, I like how the guy we're complaining about has to insult the aspie in order to feel good about himself. If you're reading this, stay classy. (And if M2K is reading this, mad respect. /brofist)

CS just gave me more questions and made me more confused.
and i 100%'d both the stories.
They don't even directly explain how litchi joined hazama... you just see her at the end and she's just kinda "Hi i'm in this scene~*~*~*~*~"

Really? I thought it was quite clear that she joined Hazama at the end of her route because he told her that he knew how to cure Arakune, etc.

except, that didn't tell us anything.
it just infers that there's a possibility that she might have interest in joining him. She still had the choice to say no, and imo she had more reason to say no.
and being in a random scene at the end of the true ending doesn't make it any clearer either.

Smash is a fighting game regardless. The objective is to KO your opponent(s) in more ways than one. What's a traditional fighting game have? Regular knock-outs? Sounds boring. What is a melee? What is a brawl? Though these games are intended to be party games, they're still fighting games. Do you think games like Mario Kart were meant to be competitive? No. But you're still competing to win. I don't care if Smash isn't a "traditional" fighting game. I like the fact that Nintendo and Hal Laboratories stepped out of the traditional boundaries and tried something different.
