iirc it wasn't a role in one of OS' past games. He did say he included some roles that were intended for his past games that he had to take out though, but that makes it a lil more questionable overall, and you just openly spilled the beans.

I feel like it's putting himself out in the spotlight too much needlessly, like he's asking to get off'd tonight. This is if it is true, shows that his ability is during the day and not night, so he's leaving himself open tonight. Unless he can conjure up an item today that would protect him tonight, I don't know why he would risk this all to out Krys.

Krystedez is new to mafia games. His reaction was perfectly fine and I see no reason to doubt him. The timing of his response (which was completely spontaneous), along with his claim and how he claimed it, are all that of an inexperienced Town player. There's no doubt in my mind that he is what he claims.

The ability I created was fake, as was the character claim. This should be easily noticeable in my claim of "Dr. Strange," a character who has never been used in one of OS' games. I did this for two reasons:

1. No one would counter claim my claim of Dr. Strange because Dr. Strange has never been in one of OS' games.
2. Krystedez would not know that Dr. Strange existed, and he is also a new player who is more susceptible to gambits like that.
3. In the event that Krystedez looked up information regarding Dr. Strange, I could reply that he was simply a new character OS added, and new characters aren't outside of the realm of reason.

In other words, I risked nothing. The power I posted does not do anything at all, it was all fake and written from scratch.

I don't think he does, for the reasons I said earlier. He's wasting it and putting himself out there. Using it just to become a scum target only to out Krys. Not worth it.

Some of my favorite roles are in this game. A few I sadly had to set aside for balance reasons, a few I didn't like as much added in for the same reason, but all in all this is an all-star cast and will more than likely be one of my favorite games.

OS mentioned at the start of the day there are definitely traces of past roles he made in this game, that weren't included in others because of balance.

He could have easily created that Dr Strange role for Super Heroes Mafia, and ended up not using it because of balance (the idea of it is potentially a lil OP tbqh, basically a day time jack of all trades).

He could have given the old made Dr Strange role to a mafia member as a safe claim, that way Bardull has all the info about it (and the written excerpt of the power he tried to use).

7. You are not allowed to quote any mod communication of any kind, real or fake, to anyone. You must paraphrase all information you wish to claim. You are not allowed to post or refer to any images or text (including color) in your role PM, nor may you post metadata about mod PMs in an attempt to break the game (e.g., message ID in the URL, time of day the message was sent, etc.). The same rules apply to hydra logs, masonries, and any other form of non-forum communication.

If it hasn't been a part of the previous games, then it isn't public information. If he has it in his role pm, and he copy-pasted it like that, then he'd probably get modkilled or get mod votes.

As I just said above, OS said that he is including some roles he made before, but never ended up putting into his past games. Dr. Strange matches this very well as a role that would have been designed for super heroes, but taken out due to balance, and put into this game as a safe claim.

If I recall correctly, he said something along the lines of "There are a lot of roles from previous games that I really liked that are in this game, but due to balancing issues, all of the roles I liked aren't in the game. Due to this, I'm using roles I liked less in order to balance the game"

He said something like that with less wording. What he said, iIrc, doesn't imply that he's using roles that aren't part of his previous games.

I could be wrong, but that's what I recall him saying in the sign up thread.

I WOULD let Bardull speak for himself, but theres no point. There aren't any townie/mafia tells that can be gained from this type of conversation. These are straight facts, and I'd be damned if you can get correct tells from stating facts. Any tells you'd gain would be from misunderstandings on either side, and it's a null conversation at this point.

I won't be talking for him from this point on after I state the fact that this is completely pointless and El ZV should move on from it.

I read it differently in assumption that there may be roles in this game that were taken out of past games.

But my point still stands Bardull, why did you try to gambit something that could be so easily called out then by another player and prevented?

My issue with you was where you stated that it justified his play. I thought you had done more actively pushing that wagon, but that was before you made that post. I stand by my other issues. I asked two other questions.

There is some merit to this conversation.

Someone could have called me out on it, Cheebs, I just didn't think anyone would actually do it. I had confidence in myself when I wrote that flavor for Dr. Strange, using both the Setzer ability post from Sho and knowing how OS typically writes his role PMs. If anyone called me out on it, I felt that I would be ready for it.

I wasn't interested in Krys' role, it was a reaction test. I needed to do it because Krys' slot was either noob Town or noob Scum, but I couldn't very well differentiate the two nor could anyone else. With the way things were going, he was definitely going to be vig'd.
