This thread would be more interesting (though less feasible) if everyone had to submit a video of themself along with their self rating. Just sayin.

yeah... i guess this thread shouldnt be a "how good are you?" thread... it would make more sense if it was "This is how good you are." nobody is really interested in other people's self rating. i guess if threadmaker is looking to see what our population representation looks like, he should include a poll. that would be awesome.

I know about every technique that isn't character specific, and many that are (all of them for my mains) but I can't use perhaps the most vital of them all in battle, Shffling! Yet looking at the Official Terms thread, I can perform most of them (wavedashing, waveshining, edgehopping, bombjumping, etc. etc. etc.)

Therefore, based on the importance of Shffling, and the fact that i've never even been to a tournament (other than those i've hosted myself for classmates who are all noobs)i will rate myself 15-17

I know all advanced tactics and can APPLY them, have gone to a lot of tourneys. one time i was at a noobish tourney, i used pichu to kill until finals which i won with marth. I am known by a few unimportant people around 200 or so counting whoever I beat in tourneys or saw me play in finals or such
I rate myself a 41, but in january 27 I am going to the same tourney as KOREAN DJ WHO IS FOURTH IN THE WORLD. If I beat him or get past player that he might lose to i am rating myself as 49

25/50

Halfway there
Just because 25 is half of 50 does not mean your journey to becoming a world champion is halfway through.

As for me, I can do many advanced tactics on the spot, and I have even surprised myself on how much I have improved, yet there are still so many smaller things that I am not applying to my game that I should. There's also the small little problem of using these advanced tactics efficiently and effectively. I think a 30 should be someone who has a very strong base of technical skill and can, for the most part, do whatever they want whenever they want, and know in what situations it may be best to use a certain skill. Because there are still a few more technical skills I don't quite have down yet, I'm going to have to rate myself a 22/50

I would say I'm a 23 or 24 outta 50.
I've been to 3 tourneys and honestly my best placing was about 15th of 25, but I believe I've improved since then. I know the game pretty well and can SHFFL and WD and I'd say I have at least decent mindgames, so I know all that fancy stuff. =P

Have you been to any tourneys, Zurad? The higher on the list, the more it deals with experience instead of tech skill. If you haven't been to a tourney, odds are you're below a 20 at best. =/

I went to MLG Chicago during the summer and got the honor of getting my butt whooped by Joe Bushman. I did fairly well against other noobish players in my pool though. Back then I couldn't really do much other then wavedash. If anything, I'd say back then I was a 17 at best.

Hopefully through more experience, I will learn to understand when it is appropriate to apply such advanced methods, and as a result develop better mind games. I try to think 1 step ahead of my opponent, but I'm sure it's going to take more then that if it's a matter of outsmarting them with properly used advanced techniques.

i'd give myself a 25.. i've played since the game came out but didn't take it as seriously until last year.. And the past 11 months have been filled w/ obsession with the game. Practice, practice, practice

I'd say I'm a 29.5 right now because my tournament placings are so inconsistent. Sometimes I get top ten, sometimes I tie for dead last out of 40-50 people.
Since I've picked up Falco, I'll move myself up to a 37. :chuckle:

There are like no tournaments where I live... :S
So, based on that list, I would be like 17-18...

20's right under the 30's.

I have alot of experience out of torny and decent amounts in torny. One of my friends i play against(he's better yes but i do challenge him sometimes) Is semi-pro and wins alot of torny(and is like the ONLY friend of M2K and plays him almost daily. Inui is his name)

I'm a heavy fox player and can do any of the tech except waveshine which i find pointless and drillshine(why i don't know but i just can't get the hang of it. No idea why)
