The little guy's recovery!

Olimar's recovery (up B) is recognized as possibly one of the worst recoveries due to edge guarding. Then again... Olimar's recovery can be used as one of his great unacknowledged strengths.

[in the next week i will have a video right here with examples of everything below. today is June 17th]

Generally olimar gets edge guarded.. what you can do to prevent that :)

*scenario* Marth Fsmashes and hits you as olimar with the tip of his sword on FD (final Destination) and you fly off to the right. you obviously can't land back on the stage due to length differences... so your B-up is thought to be the only thing that can save you... and to top it all off, math goes for the edge guard.
you must think clearly to attempt a recovery. Uair is generally a good choice to counter this because Uair has a great hitbox.
Move to the left while Marth continues to edge guard. with your distance covered by moving left your now to the bottom right of Math, perform while continuing left your second jump followed by an Uair. using these both at the same time is essential for increased hitbox. when you perform this action 2 things will happen, either Marth will be oblivious to your hitbox range and get hit off the edge or the Marth will see this coming and proceed to the stage from the edge to avoid your attack. now that your edge is open for a B-up, perform B-up to your safe success at a recovery =)

there are other styles to recover, also depending on the character olimar is fighting. i will post those all within the next week (today is June 17 09)

The problems with recovering for Olimar happen when you've lost your second jump. As long as you have your second jump, there's no need to worry.

An opponent who does know how to gimp Olimar will first send him offstage without a double jump or knock him out of it. Then they would try to edgehog.

This kinda fails with other tether users (Like TLink) that can simple tilt back and press Z twice to get more invincibility frames. They can do that when Uair's hitbox is out and do it up to three times to completely edgeguard you without leaving the edge :(
