General Rules:
Oklahoma will try its best to adhere to SBR standard rules to the letter. Rules can be changed if there’s a consensus. Also, I’m not changing things cause Inui said so.
* 3-stock
* 8-minute timer
* Double elimination
* Items are set to "Off" and "None"
* All sets will be determined in Best of 3 matches; Best of 5 will be used to determine the victor in Winner's, Loser's and Grand Finals
* In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors
* No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
* Double Blind picks can be called on the first match.
* Stage strikes are in effect in doubles, singles pools, and singles
*DSR is in effect in this tourney unless both players agree to revisit a previous stage.
* If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage
* All matches concluded by a suicide kill are determined by percent (including Kirby-ciding, DDD-ciding, Bowser-ciding).
* All standing infinites are banned from the tournament (DDD standing infinite, Marth on Ness, etc)
* Ice Climbers infinite is limited up to 200%.
* Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
* stalling is banned as is Planking (45 ledgegrab rule for singles; 55 for doubles PENDING CHANGE)
* Metaknight is NOT banned
* Players who use wii-motes are asked to take care of their own equipment as there are NO spare batteries provided in the tournament.
* Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
* If one player asks not to play on a hacked wii, then the match can be moved elsewhere.
* Losers/Winners/Grand Finals matches will be recorded and can’t be avoided. Losers semis, winners semis, etc. though can be.
* Players who don’t wish to play on Live Stream can request so up until finals.

Additonal rules for doubles:

* Color Blind Rule is in effect for teams.
* If a player on a team is playing Lucario, Sonic, or Pokemon Trainer, either team can request for them to be Blue Team and the opponents must abide. If both teams have one of the characters, they must work it out between them.

two things:

1. Shouldn't the Doubles Planking limit be higher than Singles? It's much easier for people to be forced to the edge, and it's harder to plank successfully in Doubles since you at least have 2 people that can try and stop you. I'm sure you meant 55 for Doubles and 45 for Singles, but just making sure I'm not missing something.

2. What will the pot distribution be for Singles and Doubles (how many placements are getting paid and what %) and is there an OOS bonus for top placement in Singles?

Ya my bad, I even posted that in the OK thread.

And Pot distribution's gonna be probably 70-20-10 or 60-30-10 depending on who shows up.

If HxC allows it, I can do the bonus for OoS players. They're gonna let us run it, they're going to leave our pot alone for the most part, and they're supplying the venue and TVs for us. Honestly, I think what'll happen is one of the pots will be untouched, but the other one like 10% will be cut or something. I'll try to convince them to let the pot grow if an OoS player wins, and there may be injections to it.

Also, the winner gets a nice plaque. :D Seriously. If you win, give them your address so they can send you a plaque for winning.

Since I can't stay to intimidate people in the actual tourney, one of you OK *****es better make sure none of these out-of-state people win...

But, I will be there beforehand to unleash hell (and SHORYUKENs)

Deezy, these are my last words to you, my son!

You too, Will, I guess...

Pirate ship actually isn't supposed to be legal. I just C/P'd this from the old oh snap thread and added some rules lol

But yeah no pirate ship. Picto is legal though.

Sorry Afin, but you're coming into conservative Oklahoma where the fancy big city smash law makers don't affect us.

Affinity, when I beat you at this tournament, I will magically acquire a girlfriend in accordance with what Sars promised me, and then I will proceed to make you jealous with all of the ***** I will be getting thereafter.

Also: Yes, need more friendlies.

Man, Japes is dumb. <_< So's Norfair, someone get that **** outta here.

But in all honesty, I think most CPs are viewed as stages that are meant to fairly bolster and hinder the performances of certain characters, but they're not meant to destroy a matchup. I think Norfair and Japes don't serve to do that.

[edit]

Also Affin, you have to fight Zinth first round now.

What about FD? Peach versus Falco is not winnable there. Falco versus a lot of characters is not winnable there. You shouldn't ban things if they're very effective (i.e. too good), only if they're broken.

Otherwise, why is MK legal? :p

Anyway, if you're banning planking anyway... why is Norfair banned?

Peach vs Falco is winnable on FD. Y'all just don't know cause y'all don't have a kos-mos. Falco on FD isn't as dominating as you believe either, I don't think anyone would actually for real make this claim just because what he can laser and >B? And besides that's why strikes and bans are in place in tourneys.

As for Norfair, it's mostly banned because it's generally seen as a camping map--the purpose of which is to abuse stalling and camping strategies. Easier way to not promote planking is just to have a ledgegrab limit. 45+ in 8 minutes is hard for anyone, even dphat.

Anyway, the stages as is are mostly agreed to be the fairest set barring, now, one stage.

Japes is being banned on the coasts partly because of Falco, actually.

It makes banning FD against him actually make a difference.

Exactly.

It's not broken, regardless of the fact it makes a couple match-ups difficult. Jungle Japes and Norfair are exactly the same. Nothing broken, just really good CPs.

FD is really campy too. And isn't DMG going to this? Why, dear Jeebus, is Brinstar allowed?

The entire game is campy, you shouldn't start banning stages just because they display something about the game that isn't popular - otherwise, again, why is MK legal?

That's bias... >_>

"Falco is doing too well! How do we make him worse?"

Falco? That ***** wins tourneys? When? Where? I thought it was all about Meta Knight, also known by his scientific name, Cheaty Bat-Wings McNinja...

Falco shoots lasers, Phantasms, and grabs you (unless you're TypEX, then trade Phantasms and Lasers for F-Smashes and Charged F-Smashes respectively), not too much of a threat when you consider people like Snake who can kill you WITHOUT BEING ANYWHERE NEAR YOU. *U-tilt is sooo gay*

I don't even remember what my point was, but anyway, you're all lucky I can't stay for the actual tournament, blah, blah, SHORYUKEN, blah, blah, GET BIG... MARIO BIG!! blah, blah...

Brinstar is debatable. I've discussed this with many other people before and really Brinstar is a stage that is usually allowed/not allowed based on your stage perspective. If you adopt a conservative stage list, Brinstar will probably be banned. If you have a more broad liberal stage list, you might have Brinstar and stages like Japes, Norfair, Port Town Aero, etc.

Just because I'm coming to this doesn't mean Brinstar should be banned haha. While the stage is stupid, there are more reasons behind it besides just me camping people there lol.

As for Japes and Norfair, you can debate whether they need to be banned or not, but I don't think that either stage clearly fits into either being obviously broken or obviously not being broken (borderline for either case depending on your own view on the function of stages for Smash). Those kind of stages it shouldn't be a big deal whether they are allowed or not as they were kinda iffy to begin with. You should be more worried about people banning stages like Castle Siege and Delfino or keeping Big Blue and Skyworld.

although i counterpick almost always w/ neutrals (i think i didnt during 1 teams match), i thought they were COUNTER picks for a reason.

if you wanted a "fair" counterpicks, in a set go random 2x.

lol Tom, how is that fair? And maybe in that case the key word should be "fair tactical counterpicks."

Mannn, Koga I've decided was not the coolest gym leader.

Erika was the coolest.

[edit]

I take that back. Sabrina and Morty were the coolest cause ghost/psychic pokemon are the coolest. Except for Snorlax.
