I call shots around here tbqh. :3
hahahahaha ur name is liar.

just sounds to me like people taking some stuff way too serious. I mean really, "common people?" as opposed to what? oh right, TITAN HIERARCHY MEMBERS lol, because up til you "resigned" I was just a common person to your lordship mexi

and scar it would have to move on to vex because even if people think I'm the best, I still don't want to have any part in any decision that makes it seem like I'm more important than crew member X because... why again? lol

it is dumb even to the very name, what is a hierarchy? it is a ranking system, some people above others. but the hierarchy members here all have the same power! to be a hierarchy it would have to include everybody
common people was referrin to the everybody as a whole, like the population. we dont get to decide who gets elected president, the electoral college does. y? because people dont always choose wats best for everyone. not to say it is an infallible system but its wats best. sacrifices must be made for the good of the colony. would u rather we change the name to "titan person who decides who chooses who crew battles and isnt more importanter than anyone else"? pretty gay!!! everyone gets to voice their opinions and is allowed to attempt to sway the mind of the hierarchy members. its not like we tell u to shut up so we can decide who does wat. every group needs a leader/s, its not like we place more value in them or act higher or mightier than the rest of the group, we just look to them for help and guidance. much to learn, u still have young padawan

talwind should just do everything
never ever!!!

This.

Mind you, since I'm pretty new to the crew and not really experienced in the competitive scene in general, I'm not gonna argue one way or the other.... but I do agree with Andy.

I lol'd a little at the "common people" phrase.
ur opinion doesnt matter yet................................................j/k but not really lolZ................................................................but just in case i am jokin.

We don't call them "common people," your taking it out of context.

And dumb to the name? It's called hierarchy to match the theme of the crew. TITANS of smash, CLASH of the TITANS, etc.

The reason we can't let everyone completely have a say for who goes in crew battles is because of bias, which we have had a lot of problems with in the past (We've especially had this probably recently in the past 6 months or so). We had no way of choosing a final roster for battles that could please everyone 100%, so the only solution was to find a roster that pleased certain people - the hierarchy - the people who were the least biased and knowledgeable of the crew that had the ability to make the best decisions for the crew.

While I personally always ask for input from everyone, you can't have every member have a completely equal say or they get their way in contrast to what's best for the crew. This is also needed beyond crew rosters for new members, or maybe some things like that.

Also, if everyone had equal say, then new members could come in and shape the crew to how they please apart from all of the original members. Example: Pretty much at the same time back about a year and a half ago we recruited Toushi, Shakugan, TenNoTensai, and (I forget his name lol). Four members were a lot considering we didn't have many of the members we did today, and when we were letting everyone have a say in what was going on, they were in opposition of what the rest wanted, and it started to make a split in the crew, and it was near impossible to find a way for everyone agreed. We were scared that the original intentions of the crew would be changed which we did not want to happen, which was one of the original reasons for the hierarchy, which also had a rule that in order to be in it you had to be an original member, though that rule was eventually removed due to the extreme amount of new members and lack of activity in many original members.
good stuff, dont let the fire die.

I haven't looked to you, vex, or chibo for guidance once except for chibo for septa, if you have something to teach me about smash, go ahead and enlighten me; and while you're at it, let me know why I need a leader.

I know **** well what common people was referring to, and the point of the comment was to differentiate "hierarchy" members (I'm still getting laughs at the idea of a hierarchy where every member is the same rank, that's the opposite of a hierarchy) from the common people, which is also laughable

don't call me a padawan I aint no ****in nerd

lol chibo I just saw this

"And dumb to the name? It's called hierarchy to match the theme of the crew. TITANS of smash, CLASH of the TITANS, etc."

-that would make sense if I was saying it shouldn't be called the TITAN hierarchy, but I was saying something else about the second word. afaik titans and clashes have nothing to do, intrinsically at least, with hierarchies... but my issue here doesn't lie with semantics anyway

stop bein a little pr!ck. u come to chibo when u ask advice on who ur facin for tourneys do u not. i believe thats called askin for advice, or am i wrong? we have tried a crew rankins system but people complained about it, thus ruinin the hierarchy system. r u mad that ur good and ur not a member cuz i did tell chibo to substitute u for me. i resigned cuz i wasnt doin my duty, i did not let arrogance lead me, unlike some people who now claim to no more about smash than the rest of us.

no, in fact I straight up told chibo weeks ago that if I was being considered for it to immediately strike me off because I don't want anything to do with it. I'm honest all the time, if I wanted a position I would try and get it, not try and get it abolished

and as much as I love chibo I don't ask him for advice regarding olimar matchups or what people do, unless you count "is he actually good" as asking for advice, so yes, you're wrong on both accounts

sheesh I must be a freakin arrogant elitist prick for not wanting myself or anyone else to be seen above my other friends

always wanting to be and striving to be on top =/= always thinking you are, and therefore, are better than everybody else

and the rest of that was completely irrelevant and I have no idea where you were going with it. if you think, say, .com's opinion is worth less to me than chibo's or vex's, or that anybody else's is, you'd be wrong. people aren't equal at the *game*, and it ends there

andy stomped his foot down and everythin is now settled cuz he said so. his word is now ABSOLUTE and everyone's opinion is now equal, but some are more equal than others.

when two people are in a debate and one starts acting all haughty and "well you just think you're right about everything don't you" it's pretty clear they're all out of material

I agree with rush, except instead of "mained Diddy" it's "played B+"

well i took it too far and i no im right in sayin not everyone is equal. im not gonna go preach about equality when that would be hypocrisy. we should just keep this to smash and i dont wanna argue about the ignorance of society.

im b at spoc. i wish i could go to reading but i cant

but anyway, andy is pretty contradicting himself if you think about it. if he wants everyone to be completely equal and everyone have the same say in decisions then if we were to decide about this, majority would say the hierarchy stays.

unfortunately some people are valued more than others. we dont like to think of it that way which is still why we treat every crew member the same and still consult as much of the crew as possible when deciding things, but there always needs to be a final word, and we need to choose who has that final word. as it is were leaving that final word up to a tiny group of people rather than a single person. why is there a president? why is there the court system? why is there congress or crazy stuff like that. i suppose we wouldnt need police either because if the general public believes going 120 in a 45mph zone is ok, then we must be right.

in an example of another crew instead of this one so i won't name ppl, lets take enemy controller. leader of the crew is atomsk. inui arguably does the most for the crew. lets say they recruit a new player that pretty much no one has ever heard of before, that also isn't up with them competitively, like rule 34 in their crew. does rule 34 have the exact same privileges, say in argument, and weight in the crew that inui and atomsk would have? no, of course not. according to andys ideologies he does though. i already applied this to tos in my last post about the whole toushi tensai shaku gomenne situation, that as brand new members they didnt like how we ran thing and tried to collectively use their distaste for crew rules to change it. so what happened? did we let in 4 new people and change all of our crew beliefs? **** no. they quit. if you dont like ToS, you shouldnt be in ToS.

notice how all those positions are elected positions, so it's everybody that decides who has more "value" (and I'll be ****ed if I let somebody else say they are worth more than me, and I'm sure a lot of people feel the same about themselves) than others

a: maybe we just shouldn't accept ***** *****es

b: everyone in the crew should be intelligent enough to come to an overall decision, if you have someone making completely stupid suggestions like going 120 in a 40 zone and everybody else is going along with it, you accepted the wrong people. I wish us common people were smart enough to realize that

chibo dont even argue. his words wont change a THING!!! he claims everyone is the same, yet he is puttin himself above everyone else. he doesnt need any help from no one cuz he knows it all. he does not need a leader cuz he is better than the rest of us.

you wanna tell me where I said any of that? I'm pretty sure I said *none of us* needs a leader because none of us is fit to be a leader for anybody else; my arguments have been purely about the entire crew and nothing pertaining solely to me. of course, I could've forgotten what I've been arguing for the whole time, so if you wanna just let me know to remind me, go ahead and do so

From a totally unbiased, outside view:

Andy is right. He certainly isn't stating that he's better than anyone, nor is he making this argument for his own selfish interests...I too feel that the hierarchy idea is stupid. It's obvious who stands where in terms of player skill, and same for their say in crew matters. Obviously Chibo should hold the largest amount of power, being the founder and doing the most work for the crew (organizing tournaments, writing the main page, etc.), but it shouldn't be by a large margin or anything. Like he said, if the common people (crewmates that the highest members of the "hierarchy" had to approve of to let them in) are going 120 in a 45 zone, then you didn't pick the right common people.

Everyone should cast their opinion in matters, then have it reviewed by Chibo, unless it's a unanimous decision that only he disagrees in.

But hey, what do I know? I'm totally uninvolved. Also, I'm a minor, so my opinion doesn't matter. :D

^that's a dictatorship where if one person disagrees with everyone else, chibo can just do whatever he wants. and while chibo is basically the leader of the crew, that just aint how it goes down. it's a group of people playing a video game. you don't need some official group to make decisions. you can get a feel of what the right move and the wrong move is all the time just by what everybody says. I guess I'm just against having an "official" group of movers and shakers ya dig
