I think that each fighter will have two types of stages, the stages like onnet or pokemon stadium which I call average stages, and then side scrolling stages

I think Sky Deck would make a great song for Sonic's stage(s). Thing is i've noticed a big resemblance in that song with Death Egg(S3&K) and Techno Base(Sonic Advace 2).
But to be honest i've never been a fan of Angel Island Zone's music before but it just shows that when they take it seriously they can make any sonic stage theme good because i love the new Angel Island music for Brawl.

There was a rumor of Green Hill Zone in some leaked information by soe guy at Gamespot.

And there was Angel Island's music....

Making VZERO'S stage ideas possibly confirmed.

yes ice cap was one of the best.
I would say to get some good feeling of tention they should use Final Boss (S5&K -not Doomsday-) and the Boss theme from Sonic Spinball (Genesis)

But really just imagines it in brawl it would have great music going while you play.........you get the point

The music idea is totally horrible. Spinball's music sucked, along with the rest of it.
And if you mean the Sonic 3 & Knuckles final boss, that wouldn't be too bad.

Hidden Palace Zone, from S&K anyone? In front of the chaos emeralds shrine. All the shriney parts are platforms, and from time to time Eggman enters the stage in his Eggomatic Hovercraft and electrocutes anyone he captures. Nostalgia FTW

I would love a scrolling green hill zone! It would be a slow scroll though so it isn't like big blue.
Plus people could go through the loops and eggman robots would appear to damage people.

This is the best idea for a Sonic stage. If Knuckles doesn't make it as a PC (I'm still praying) the Master Emerald could also be included in the stage, and if any character goes near it Knuckles attacks them?

Probably won't happen, as good as it would be. But back to Sonic levels, if not Hidden Palace then Casino Nights Zone. The pinball machine at the top could heal/damage you.

Sky Chase Zone. Very small stage, all on Tails' plane. Nebula's (the guys who drop the spiky balls) and the tortoise pairings could attack you.

Seems GHZ is king here...

But I think we're getting Angel Island Zone from Sonic 3 based on the music sample. Maybe that'll be played in whatever stage they pick though.

If they do a Sonic-themed stage for SSE I want a loop! A loop that only bunny-hooded characters that are fast enough to run though. I doubt it though, the physics system is all wrong for it based on the fact that there's no curves elsewhere.

Also, slim chances for Ark, we already have 2 space stages most likely. That's my opinion though.

Stages WERE one of my concerns above characters and such before we got level editor/creator. I really hate moving that have all these gimmicks and stuff so I was REALLY worried by the whole moving action-packed streak. But a moving stage might be the thing for Sonic.

A space level sounds plausable, thanks to 'Live and Learn's inclusion, but I'd rather there be an interesting level, something distinguished, like Ice Cap Zone/Casino Night Zone/Hidden Palace Zone.
Not that I have anything against Green Hill Zone, of course, that could be made into a far more interesting level than Angel Island. I'm really not sure how Angel Island Zone would be converted into a level, whilst the possibilities of Green Hill Zone are endless. What I'd like is for the Green Hill Zone to be at the boss fight bit, if you know what I mean. Two platforms at either side, Robotnik/Eggman comes in from time to time and *ahem* 'swings his ball' like he does in Sonic 1.

lol @ the swings his ball

Definitely NOT saying it's not possible, but for hardcore Sonic fans who didn't grow up with SA2 and many others, Ark is pretty weak compared to Death Egg & Co. for a notable space stage in the series.

I'm not all for the Angel Island thing.. much rather have GHZ in some incarnation or another.

Secret Rings was not great but not horrible.. compare Secret Rings to, oh say, Advance 3. That was a great idea, but it was so sloppy and f'ed up. The extra character served virtually no purpose. That's off-topic though.

My guess is that they will most likely do what they did with Mushroomy Kingdom, and redo the very first Sonic stage from the original game, into a side scrolling stage, like they did with Mushroomy Kingdom. Or they'll make a stage where either you must keep moving through the stage, or the stage itself will move, with the background changing. Anything that's fast moving, like Sonic.

The should have made it a barren wasteland and called it 'Green Hilly Zone' with a soft jazz remix.
No. Actually, that would have made me cry.

This is exactly the stage I wanted. Pixels and all.

Wahey, the first video showing Green hill zone!

Seeing it in action is getting me a little more warmed up too it. I love Tails and Knuckles's appearances both doing the loop in the background and the Checkpoint post, but what was the sudden gap in the curve all about?

The music is from the anime intro to sonic cd for the pc... " sonic boom " great song, really brings me back :)
I would technically say Sega CD instead of PC (but yeah, it did come out on later)

I could care less about Sonic being in Brawl, but having this song, from my favorite Sonic game, totally makes me put this stage up on my top 5 faves now, haha.

I wish Knuckles/Tails did more then just run around in the background, but it's great anyway.

TBH, what are the contiune posts for in the stage? I can't seem to work it out.

But all in all, just seems more of a retro stage for fans :)
