Yeah, Emerald Hill. Where he 1st appeared in Sonic 2.

But in any stage, Sonic will be the only playable. I would wish for a 2nd rep (Because then we could have the Sonic & Tails VS. Mario & Luigi battle). But Sonic is enough, it brings us back to when he was the lone, blue hedgehog in 1991. Besides Tails & Knuckles will be represented anyways: Just not as PC.

I agree with Magnacor something on the lines of green hills zone, which we have seen in 3D in the sonic game for the gamecube with all A rank, so i would see that not being a possibility

Maybe Station City from Sonic Adventure? Who knows. A few stages would be awesome! A retro green hill like many have said.

Egg Carrier would be awesome, with its transformation and maybe even including a part on the Tornado (with tails piloting, assuming he is not a playable character) "leading to" the Egg Carrier.

Hopefully we'll see two stages for Sonic; the only franchises in Melee that didn't get at least two stages were those that had very little stage potential (Ice Climbers, Game & Watch, Fire Emblem).

I mean, one stage just wouldn't work. Live And Learn would be very out of place on a grassy, islandy place, but Angel Island music would be very out of place on a Sonic Adventure Era stage. Since it appears that Snake may have a second stage (a clip in a old trailer shown a MGS place looking very different to Shadow Moses) Sonic is more than deserving of two stages.

i couldnt see Station Square as a stage (unless it was like Onett). Green Hill/Emerald Hill/Angel Island are the most likely levels because any Sonic gamer would recognize them.

Egg carrier would be too much like Halberd, and the Ark is a nice thought, but easy to doubt.

The whole 2 stages idea, i would say a basic green stage(Green Hill, etc.) and a new gen stage of some sort. I still like the idea of Meteor herd.

Green Hill is the 1st level of Sonic 1. Emerald Hill is the 1st level of Sonic 2.

Green hill has the mountains in the background and Emerald Hill has fields behind it, however you know the Emerald hill and Green hill are the same (the name is practically the same). Emeralds are green, its the same. Well also, both have the same kind of layout. How can you say Angel Island is confirmed?! Just because the music was added does not mean its will be a definite stage

I kind of, completely disagree. They want a stage that best represents the Sonic franchise and that is more of Knuckle's turf. I don't know why you would think that the shrine of the Master Emerald suits a franchise that is all about getting from Point A to Point B as fast as you can, destroying anything and anything in your path. If you think the music boosts the chances you couldn't be any more wrong.

As you can see, some music comes from games that don't match that particular stage.

I agree Green Hill zone is awesome so we deserve Sonic's first stage from his games.

Hey, new here.
I kinda get the feeling Sakurai would be bored with adding green hill. Like how adding popular characters isn't fun (I'm sure he said something like that).
Also Sonic's old levels often seem really similar to levels we've seen in SSB, Melee or are seeing in Brawl.
Generic grassy level, Icy level, Vibrant neon city level, Lava level, Space level ect... A level from the 360 and PS3 Sonic seems highly unlikely in my opinion due to it advertising a game on another system.
Something like a Death Egg or ARC sounds feasible and original in Smash but I kinda hope for a Secret Rings stage done on a platform were it zips and speeds along the world really quickly.

I'd like to see a Lava Reef stage that after a certain amount of time, transitions into the Hidden Palace zone. Just like it does in Sonic & Knuckles.

It'd be like an 'avoid the lava' stage (Metroid, heh) but then you'd be able to walk on the lava once it cools down.

Your making me drool already. But a flying fortress/battery zone level that goes into space is also on my wish list right now

Gren Hill Zone would be the obvious choice, but Sakurai doesn't seem to go for the obvious choice in stages (Frigate Orpheon over Phenadrana Drifts/Choze Ruins, Mario Circuit over Rainbow Road, Rumble Falls over a variety of possible and obvious DK stages from DKC series), so it might be something else. Angel Island has a good chance becaus of the music, but it might be too generic for a Brawl stage, being the usual "grassy" first stage of a 2D Sonic game.

I'd actually hope for Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic 2, it'll be a good bit different from other stages, and it's a well known stage. flying Battery Zone would be a great choice aswell, sine we've not seen a Mute City/Delfino Plaza style stage in the sky yet, although it doesn't have to be like those, they'd jsut seem like a suitable model to me.

Well i agree with the Chemical Plant Zone idea, but i would like to see the Spring Yard Zone from Sonic 1 (Casino stage) Ice Cap Zone or Mushroom Hill Zone or even Flying Battery Zone. Those were some of the finest stages with the coolest music as well.

I want them stages i've just said to have their retro music to be in as well.

I agree no Green Hill Zone. I mean, all you could have is a few bumps and a loop in the middle. (Bowser running around a loop? )

I definitely think it will be from Secret Rings. (Bridge of Elden is from Twilight Princess, not Wind Waker or Ocarina of Time) The most likely place is Night Palace, but I'm not sure what it will look like.

Casino Nights Zone - Sonic 2.

Could be quite unique, in a kind of 'U' shape, with plenty of the Sonic-style bumpers and the reels machine at the top, with options of healing if the heal icons all fall into place, damage etc.

The fact that you could only KO them off the top off the screen would be cool too.

I agree Green Hill Zone would be boring, despite before being my first choice.

And I would NOT want a Secret Rings level. I hated the levels in that game. The whole game, infact.

I have the feeling that it'll be Angel Island and they'll battle in front of the Master Emerald. Green Hill Zone, as already stated, is way to obvious, though he could have two stages and that one would be the second stage, I put my money on Angel Island being a stage.
