Official Alternate Costume Character Thread

Dark Link being confirmed is great news for me...if he's not a separate character, Feirce Deity Link would be pwnage. Sure, I'm being a huge fanboy right now, but how awesome would that be?

Shadow as a Sonic alt. would be nice as well, along with Dr.Mario as Mario alt. and Daisy for Peach.

we're all fanboys of something right? i personally would be the happiest guy ever if sonic had a shadow alternate. the only thing that would be better than that was if shadow was an entire seperate character, which of course won't happen..so i really want a shad alternate for sonic.

my 13 year old cuz can make models for a lot of things. i once treid to make a model. i made a deformed packman with one leg.

bowser=make a new model with the same moveset and walla. dry bones.nintendo can do it.
what do you think they did with roy falco dr mario? they just wasted space with character selection.

alternative costumes must be better in this game,not recolouring,plus Sonic's alternative costume must be Shadow,not Knuckles. here is the list
1.Mario - Dr.Mario - Paper Mario - SNES Mario(G&W got in Melee why not this guy?)
2.Link - Young Link - Dark link whatever - WW Link
3.Samus - Fusion Samus
4.Pikachu - Pichu
5.Wario - Original Wario
6.Ice Climbers - Baby Mario and Baby Luigi
7.Lucas - Ness (shut up already)

You people have no idea what your talking about with 3D models...it's obvious....

An alternate color is basically just a skin change you can make in...photoshop.

An alternate model is something completely different and takes time to perfect and balance.

I am 100% against totally different characters costumes. Ice Climbers = Kat and Anna? Shiek and Sothe? Raichu and Pikachu? Sonic and Tails? The physics would not work out at all. They would not suit the alternate costume. The only reasonf or that is to cram for characters into Brawl but that's what the AT's are for. Some do work but to change the character into not only a entirely different character but from another ****ing series is just ridiculous.

Anyways, for alt costumes I would like to see:

Mario: Doc Mario, Tanooki Mario, or Caped Mario.
Peach: a obvious Daisy
Luigi: Mr. L
Yoshi: Boshi (MAYBE). I would prefger Black Yoshi.
Bowser: Mario Strikes Uniform
Fox: Possibly his dads outfit.
Captain Flacon: Possibly Blood Falcon
Link: Link's starting outfit in Twilight Princess
Young Link: Link's pajamas from Wind Waker.
Ridley: Recolor or redesign to fit a older Rdiley (or Prime Ridley - depending on what design they choose).
Ice Climbers: I like the idea of Hawaiian themed parkas but I doubt that would slide.
Pokemon Trainer: Girl trainer

I'm completely with Venus of the Desert Bloom here. Alternate character costumes using different characters is not a good idea. Sonic to Shadow, Mario to Dr. Mario and Peach to Daisy is easily done. But making Sonic turn into Tails? I don't think so. They are two completely different characters. Even Pikachu to Raichu wouldn't work. They are different characters with different shapes and sizes. Perhaps such similarities could work, but definately not one character turning into another dissimilar character. That just doesn't work.

I'm definately hoping for a Dark Samus alternate costume. I've always wanted her as a PC, but that doesn't seem likely right now. Alternate costume at the very least would satisfy me.

Yeah I remember reading through that. To me, it's just an excuse to include more playable characters. It just doesnt have the capacity to work. I agree with different versions of the character but not completely different characters.

Exactamundo Venus 'O t3h Dessert Bloom (Ice Cream Flowers? ) Not separate characters, but merely alternate versions of the characters. Dark Link has said to have been confirmed by an IGN reporter (although the question remains if it's the epic looking Dark Link from Twilight Princess or just a black tunic recolor) and I'm pretty sure Sakurai's graphical team or whatsit would have no problem including Fierce Deity Link and/or Magic Armor Link as well.

on topic: I agree with that alt. costumes should only be aesthetic and not affect weight, size, hitboxes etc.
What we've seen in gameplay videos so far has me disappointed though, sure dark Link and albino DK are cool, but still, I want my hooded robe zelda
