It kind of did get over shadowed by Melee but the only hype thing was Fat Goku taking a game off of Mew2King. I couldn't make it but I was on the phone with one of the guys there and it was crazy.

But are you (or any smashboard mod) the ones who report these players on the list? Because the absence of the others french players combined with the lack of streamed tournament make his place hard to explain, because based on a totally different ladder compared to other dude.
I mean if you calculate an ELO then you will have two ladder, one which use Ramin (highest EU player) as a reference, and an other for all the other players who didn't fight Ramin, and didn't lose to those who fought him.
You can rank DKwill based on his results against players ranked based etc... until you reach Zero. But for Leon, Gluttony, Deimos etc, it will be more like Leon ranked based on his results against Glutto, ranked based on his result against Deimos, ranked based on his result against Leon.

My bad, take out the I think. TripleR is 2nd in his state, placed high in his tourneys, and is known as one of he best active members. Just because Mikekirby does well at his weeklies doesn't mean hes more deserving than someone who dominates their entire state.

I read it, and tbh its kind of an innacurate way of ranking players as notable, mainly because there are a ton of players to look out for that arent in the top 60, or arent super active recently. Being top 2 in your state should certainly be enough to be classified as notable, sorry to be rude but still, I don't know why that is. If ZeRo stopped playing for a couple months would he still be notable? Yes.

Not really, we usually upload results after each tournament. But sadly the majority of French top players doesn't have a smashboards account (Glutonny created his account recently, just for the ranking ).

With major balance patches comes the possibility of a player's permanent disuse of a character. In cases this is widespread a character's notable players may be wiped, affecting results against them in the future and/or possibly their inclusion.

Just means that a head to head win in a tournament of less than 30 people probably won't count.
