yeah sorry guys but we can't do it at my house in El Monte so it going to about same place as last time don't we only taking 10% of the pot but i on the other hand 4 ****in up so badly so close to Monday will kick my self in the nuts and pay him 20$

yeah i live down here at the 562, but maybe you guys should come down when I have casuals every friday or whenever. it'll be cool to play different people form the 626 area also.

they're STILL taking money out of the pot? that's pretty dumb. Someone really needs to speak up about this because taking money out of the pot is unnecessary since there's no venue fee or anything. 10% of the pot, 100% of the pot, either way it's freaking dumb and a bad move when hosting a tournament. I'm probably not going to this, but I'm just saying, whoever is taking money out of the pot is stupid. If you don't believe me, then refer to this:

DON'T TAKE MONEY FROM THE POT. The only time it's OK to take money from entry fees is to pay for venue costs. The electricity cost of running one TV for 10 hours is negligible, so don't use your utility bill as an excuse to charge money. You aren't running a tournament to make money -- unless you actually are, in which case there are FAR better things you could be doing to that end -- you're running a tournament because it's FUN.

for those who don't know Neal, he's a highly respected member of the community and he knows how to run good tournaments. So please follow the advice quoted above.

we all understand that seriously, it's ****ing ridiculous that the owner of the house took such a big amount of the money last time. the only reason he's reducing it to 10% this time is because tshkn is giving him 20 dollars. this tournament was originally going to be at tshkn's house, but he can not do it at his house no more, so we are all going to have to go to the other person's house that took a great amount of the pot last week.

I know who Neal is, and I understand the aspects of how a tournament is supposed to run.

Unfortunately it is not our choice whether the owner of the venue charges us or not. The guy did not care anything about Smash but making money out of it. It's ok if you don't come, but all I am saying is we're just here to have a fun time. And we've got people here that are making a lot of sacrifices. We understand that its very obscure for some of you. But we'd rather have a tournament near by than no tournament.

And as a last minute notice, Tskn's parents just changed their mind and we're going to have this in Monterey Park again.

i thought the parking was going to apply to the other place. Does it apply to here as well? Don't apartments have guest parking?

Parking: Its ok here in Monterey Park. You can park on the streets. The apartments are actually on a uphill sort of thing and you park on the street.

Race: If we use yours, and depending on how many people show up. IF we have more than 25 than yes. Since the owner is already taking money, I'm trying to save as much money for the pot as possible.
