So like I was asked by tonberry to house him for sometime which I am from July 5th till Genesis.

Now I got Armada and his brother asking me for housing but to be honest iono if I can since yea my parents are ...

The people from France also need housing for genesis but it seems no one has got to them.

So norcal? Step it up with the housing please, this tournament only happens once in a life time so c'mon help these people out.

when you're spending like $600 or whatever on plane tickets, what's $50 more on a hotel room for a few nights?

i'm already housing people before/after too, and i was semi-reluctant to do that because 1) i'm getting a hotel room myself during the actual tournament (luckily, with the people that i'm housing so that's easy) and 2) it'll be a tight fit as is

hotel info has been posted for like 4 months now... THEY need to step it up

and the hotel is gonna be much more fun anyway

People should talk to Oats.

For the Socal Genesis bus, we were having trouble getting people, so Oats decided to let people who didn't want to do the full deal(which is bus+hotel) ride on the bus. Now, I'm not sure about this, you would have to ask Oats, but this means that there may be hotel spots open, because if we have 5 people who ride the bus and don't stay in the hotel, those spots may be open for people who need cheap hoteledge

Do they know that the venue is like an hour from everyone and that housing implies 2 hours of driving every day? I WOULD house a lot of people except I can't transport more than 4 people at once and I doubt people are getting rental cars, so I intend on getting a hotel room myself to save 120-150 miles of driving per day.

justin, i think we live too far to make it worth it for to house people.
Well house people and figure out transportation its not so bad. I just feel bad for ppl spending 1200+ for plane tickets alone. I'm just asking people to see if u can figure out ways for housing. I'll be driving to genesis so if someone can house I can take u and whoever u housed to genesis.

I know Antioch is like the middle of nowhere but something has to be done as genesis comes closer.

We'll stay at an hostel during the tournament, since we'll take the Socal Bus. And thanks to Zhu, we'll have housing after the tournament. so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure he'll be able to house us until the day we'll leave to attend Evo, though, so I may ask for housing again when I cleared that point with him.
We'd still need someone to house us in Socal before Genesis, though.

Thanks for this topic, too ;)

Replace 600 by 1200. It's already way too much, so we would really appreciate not to add too much additional costs. But the financial aspect is not the main point : we're coming to another country. Another continent. In my opinion, the most interesting thing during this kind of travel is to meet different people and see how they live and what's their culture. And it's way harder to meet "real" people when you're staying in an hostel. I would be pissed off to spend my time in the US with the other frenchies only.
Please remember that I don't say that about the days of Genesis. We know every Norcal smashers' houses will and should be crowded during these days, and that's why we're staying at an hotel (we'll see many smashers there anyway). But I don't think many people will stay some time before and after the tournament, as the foreigners like us will, so I guess some people should have some places at their home.

this is america. don't count on other people's generosity.

especially when the tournament is in the middle of nowhere.

antioch is hecka far

the only problem with norcal housing is we're so limited on transportation(cars)
i mean, alan would probably be fine housing ppl but how would we get everyone from his house to the venue?

hotels would be a good idea.

i would house ppl, but as a proud latino we already have like 26 ppl living in a 0ne bedroom apartment, so sry.

also bout the transportation, i dont think its a problem(except hyuga), cause we got some thing called a "bart" im pretty sure every 1 in the east bay can use it.

sure they might have 2 leave earlier but still.

get a hotel

seriously, plan for a hotel beforehand. if you get housing, grand, you saved some money. if not, you already have a place to go.

I could potentially house two people. We would all have to sleep in my room. Play in my room lol. And then you would have to get shroomed to bring you to bart and then you would have to follow my written instructions of how to get to concord.

So I'm going to be booking my hotel room pretty soon(Ramada Inn probably) so I could have people over there since the hotel wants us to lie to them lol.

I'm not sure if its a good idea though. Any thoughts?

Go ahead.

That's the same thing I'm doing. But get them to split the price, too.
