I think it was just Muba messing up. The code is in fact called Dash Cancelling because its cancelling a dash from using a crouch. We call it Dash Cancelling, but some people who may not have played melee might not know the term and instinctively call it crouch cancelling.

Maybe rename it to Crouch Dash Cancel to make it obvious?

Why not just call it by it's given name? It'd be more confusing to give the same technique multiple names just because it's implemented in different games.

I don't understand why people do not just stick with the released game. The entire reason that games have "sequels" (if you will) is because the game is meant to have new things employed into it. New characters, lack of certain characters, new techniques-- this is what makes new games sell.

Chain grabbing happens to be one of these things that is a big problem, but someone who knows how to Chain grab doesn't become the best player in the world (anyone can do it, it's not very hard), it's obviously beatable and after that damage rack up it's not like the opponent of a chain grabber is hopeless. No fighting game is ever going to be perfectly balanced, because if it was, then the characters would be dull and boring making the game suck.

I see Brawl+ coming out of the product of anger and laziness of a bunch of people who do not want to re-get exceptionally good at a new game, instead they want it to be like the old so they don't have to work hard to attain skills to become a top player. I can't stand hearing people say "Oh Brawl is banned here, we don't play it because it sucks, we love Melee." YES. Melee was a great f*cking game. But after what, ?7? years, it is time for some change.

Accept the game that was released.

Do I like tripping in the middle of a match? NO. However, I am not going to piss and moan about it because it will change nothing. The game has this and that is that. I would be very upset to see "Brawl+" take over the actual competitive league play of SSBB itself. It just shows that the community of gamers are whiny girls.

Playing the game with no items is removing something that is originally in the game that can be removed without having to alter the games code. Also removing them is reasonable because they are randomly generated during a match, meaning they are not a part of the game that is technically skillful play from the player. So please, take your little item argument and put it in a forum where kids talk about recreational play, because it's a God **** given that items are turned off.

There is not so much a "we" as there is "a select group of us," because I still see a lot of tournaments and a lot of players playing the original SSBB game, without having it altered. Why is it that the MAJORITY of kids can play just fine but there is a group of people who can't handle the regular game? "ZOMG that's so unfair!!! We are gonna hack it so I can remove that." What does this turn in to? A fight of what people think should be in the game and what shouldn't be. Then there has to be re-patching and more *****ing and moaning from players like you.

I am not telling you that you can't do anything, I am telling you that you are being prissy whining girls about it because you can't handle a new level and type of game play.

Apparently you dont realize that this little group of us is becoming bigger and bigger everyday with more and more notable, respectable players joining in. Also, the MAJORITY can do whatever they want. Can we play the game too? Sure we could, but y? I ENJOY brawl+ more. It's soo much more fun. It isnt about, "hey i hate vbrawl, lets change it cuz i hate it so much and its unfair " It's more of a "hey, i like brawl but it could be ALOT better, and i could enjoy it more if it was improved."

This is your right, we have just as much right to change the game as we see fit as well. You dont have to play it if you dont want. We dont force it down anyone's throat, or hold a gun to your head and say play or die.

If you could turn off tripping and chain grabbing within the game without hacking the game they'd be off in 2 seconds, obviously. However, now instead of just accepting what is in the game you have to go in there and edit things out.

lol first off. Saying people who can't handle the game are unskilled? You do realize that gimpyfish is gonna try brawl+, also there are ALOT of good people who are participating. Including the Kishes, which if i recall correctly, held the biggest non MLG melee tourney. And your saying were bad? Wow, what an idiotic comment. You hate people who want to improve a game and just assume that since we change it it means we cant "handle" it. How many times do i have to make my point clear. We CAN handle it. We CAN play brawl, we just DONT WANT TO. It's not as fun. Id really like to hear you say someone is bad when they are destroying you in brawl or brawl+.

Also, you obviously don't keep up with how brawl+ is ran or even what is being implemented. So let me clear some things up. First off, there is a SBR+ Yes, a Smash Back room completely devoted to brawl+. They handle all the changes within their official backroom release. People will complain, of course. Much like people complain about the tier list. It doesn't mean anything. Before you begin to bash the game further. I must say. PLAY IT. Dont bash something you have never tried.

2nd. We have already done character balance. It's still a work in progress but it has mostly been completely polished up. EVERYONE feels playable. The gap between tiers has been dramatically reduced. We will test heavily with tournaments and if in the future we feel the urge that someone is too good or too bad we will change them.

Stop being stereotypical and stop assuming that we have no skill cuz we dont like to play the game that you like to play. You dont see me telling you how bad you r for playing it like you do.

What is wrong with modding the game to make it more competitive? No one is forcing it down your throat.

Here is my question for you: If you had to option to turn a setting which makes a more balanced version of Brawl, would you? One where ganon or falcon is not laughable against MK and MK doesn't dominate tier standings dramatically?

Would you not host a game which removes the flaws of Brawl such as tripping, jab locks, ridiculously simple chaingrabs, triple jump glitch and more?

Seriously, you have no idea what your talking about and are just flaming without even giving a considering that we aren't replacing your brawl events. This is meant to be its own tournament event, something that can coincide with brawl singles akin to melee side events.


Your argument has no validity to it. We follow a strict system and have official codesets determined from top quality respected players. I also hope you realize we have a back room full of accomplished players (SBR, tourney hosts, etc) who have their eyes set on a deeper game than brawl. Who are you to judge their knowledge of the game let alone call people out for playing it. I could call you a sally for being completely stubborn and unwilling to change.

There is some food for thought.

P.S. Why do you even attempt to attack someones skill at the game as well? You have no idea who we are and I sure don't know who you are. And odds are, I'm loads more experienced than you in the competitive scene
