They would have announced if they were no longer doing them, unless they are waiting to announce such a thing but I strongly doubt it. I don't want to think about it really right now, but with Iwata...R.I.P..., they probably just don't have the right person to do them with because he's not there physically anymore.

I don't think directs are dead,but I don't expect any direct like thing until the end of the year,they could do direct exclusive games,but 10min overview trailers like mario maker will be already their appeal.

"We can't make a bad show next time, let's show something new and good, or nothing".
Now with the death of Iwata, they maybe are building a new "Nintendo Direct" model or something.

You guys may remember from last year that I have a buddy somewhat close to the industry.

This isn't a leak by any means, he's an industry analyst. His job is to predict patterns and to learn as much info as he can.

I have it on somewhat good authority that Star Fox, Pokemon SMD, and Mario Tennis U are aiming for November 27th or 20th. Specifically Star Fox aiming for the 20th or 27th and the others filling in wherever NoA chooses.

Again, not a leak, but it's something he told me when chatting recently. Just thought I would let you all know. It could very well end up not being the case.

Last night I was sitting at 90 points at B+ in Splatoon. Lost one match, lost 15 points. Sitting at 75. Get mad. Take a break. Go back on. Win one. Get 10. 85 now. Then win again. Get 7. 92. Lose another game. -12. 80 points. Blinded by rage. Go to bed.

The ranked system for this game is bogus. Match making puts all the higher ranked players on the same team and then if you happen to be on that team and lose, your score gets wrecked. And if you're on that team and win, you get a pitiful amount of points because your team was stacked. How about you group everyone together with the same rank so that doesn't happen? Yesterday i played one where I was the only B+: everyone else was A- or A. Don't do that.

In fact, i do notice a pattern that soon (days or a week), before one, they kinda start to commmunicate some news like they just did.

Because this wasn`t much tbh.....compared to what they tell in direct, it`s clearly not direct materials.

Basically, I would start to worry if none happens in September.....

They have always come out the year before the actual Olympics.

I can definitely see a Release in November if the past game are anything to go by.
Now from what we have seen new characters might be joining the line up. I would at least expect them to address these new additions and why those specific characters were chosen. not only that but this game will taking Amiibo into account.
With that said you can see a clear Bias to one side:

I hope they do less Wii Remote stuff and just make a ton of Wii U Game Pad and Wii U Pro Controller games for Mario and Sonic.

I know it's a motion control based series, but I find I tend to not play games I can't easily pick up and play without some setup , hook ups, or motion to control menus properly or whichever after the day I initially buy it.
