I see we found the website that randomly makes a Nintendo E3 leak, fantastic!

Can this be a thing? A Zoo Tycoon-like game on the Wii U would be really fun.

Also, new thread looks nice!

As this is a general Nintendo thread on the eve of E3, I thought this would be a fun thing to do.

Remember that rumor from a while back that said Diddy was left out of Mario Kart so that he could be in a new Diddy Kong Racing, and that the new DKR would star a bunch of B, C, and D tier Nintendo characters?

I decided to make a DKR roster based off of that rumor. I went with 20 characters as that was the roster count for the original Sega and Sonic All Star Racing title, so it seemed like a good bar to match. I originally had K. Rool as the defacto villain, but I swapped him out for Tatanga as I thought he fit better. Also messed around with Advanced War, Mother, and Golden Sun reps, but none made the final cut here.

Thoughts?
Slippy, Duck Hunt Dog and Balloon Fighter are way too iconic for this IMO.

Slippy and Balloon Fighter...are hardly what I'd call iconic.

No one from Star Fox is an icon except Fox.

And Balloon Fighter doesn't have the legacy of Duck Hunt.

At least all of the original 4 team members are iconic/A-list. Probably Wolf too. I'd actually argue that apart from the fact that Fox is is in the name of the game, Slippy, Fox and Wolf all became bigger than the game itself through the popularity of certain lines they said.

"Can't let you do that Star Fox"
"Do a Barrel Roll"
"HELP MEEEEEE".

I actually think that Slippy and Peppy are more than iconic enough to be in Smash as clones/Semi's.. Some characters should just be in based on who they are, I think they both fall in that category.

While I agree that Balloon Fighter's legacy isn't as grand as Duck Hunt, it still has a legacy all the same. Spin offs/major roles in Mario Kart etc.

I'm talking in terms of not just gamers.

But general audiences.

No one is iconic in Star Fox, except Fox to most people who just play games casually. Literally Falco for most of my friends is ''Oh, that's the bird guy from Star Fox. Cool."

And most casual gamers who had a NES remember the Duck Hunt Dog because he was bundled with the original Mario game.

I'm talking about in terms of gamers. Although the Star Fox characters are iconic even beyond gamers. In fact, go type "Do a Barrel Roll" in on google and see what happens. That's how iconic those characters are.

Star Fox as a quartet have definitely transcended the video game industry.

Kind of on topic here. This is so awesome.

Balloon Fighter is more of a gaming icon though. Or moreover, the character is from a game series/theme that is iconic. Maybe calling the character iconic is a stretch.

Do a Barrel Roll is popular, but I doubt you could really ask anyone on the street about it and they'd be able to give you a proper answer or it's origin.

Much less tell you who anyone in Star Fox is.

And that comic in particular proves my point.

To make sure people get the joke. They call him Star Fox.

Not Fox.

Or Fox McCloud.

Star Fox.

Star Fox itself is still popular due to those old memes, quotes of 64 and Smash Bros itself.

I think people can still recognize :4fox:,:4falco:, Peppy and Slippy. Also that small amount of :wolf: and Krystal.

I love those Simpsons/Futurama comics.

Well from the looks of things, it seems like this won't be so different after all.

Welcome back everybody.

Agree to disagree. From my experiences the SF 4 are extremely iconic.

These sound like different versions of the same game.

"Buy these two to unlock the special DLC Metroid: Sorrow"
