Read through the topic and it seems that quite a few characters aren't trademarked, including some that are in Smash like Ganon. So it probably means nothing, but it's interesting that they decided to trademark K. Rool.

Ship Deck 2's Theme from Smash immediatly started palying in my head.
Seriously knowing that your two most wanted characters for Smash might have a shot because of this Ballot.

Difference is that Inklings were too new and the game wasn't out.

They weren't exactly the most viable DLC option.

The US trademark database is open for anyone to see.

Only Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are trademarked. K.Rool isn't. None of the other Kongs are. Names are only trademarkable if they're also titles, so the only characters Nintendo have trademarked are characters whose names have appeared in the title of products.

My nuzlocke was going horribly, but now I have a Mantine and everything is going (mind the pun) swimmingly.

I know competitively it's pretty useless, but in game it's nearly impossible to get KOed. Combined with my Hippowdon, I think I'll be able to get to the E4.

I have a Dedenne (many versatile, such speed, wow) and a Gabite too... but I don't like using near-uber Pokemon in Nuzlockes because that aint fun. Although, Gabite's defences suck so it could easily die on me before evolving. I might have to trade down for a Flygon.

Yeah but I'm going by series which Metroid has reached that point multiple times. But Mother is really close and Fire Emblem as well
