This "only four more characters" exercise made me realize how happy I am with the current roster. If we get Wolf back and a DK rep I would be completely happy. Don't get me wrong, I would love more..... really any and all vets are welcome, and I'm sure any newcomers we get would be awesome. It's just that the roster is already beyond amazing.

(Still, give me Isaac. And a Konami rep.)
If we got no more characters, I'd be perfectly fine with that. This roster is easily the most diverse, and Smash 5 will truly "scrape the bottom of the barrel" for it's newcomers.

Ehh ill throw in mine
4 characters
Viridi
Ridley
Wonder Red
Edea Lee

(and 3 characters to replace the super no hopers)
inkling
Dixie
K rool

3 stages
Phendrana Drifts (metroid Prime)
Blossom City (wonderful 101)
Makna forest (xenoblade)

Im really content with the roster already so ill probably be ok when none of them make it for smash 5.

except for some reason goomba's shoe is in smb1 style
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

this isn't me pointing out a flaw in your logic, the decision in the game makes no sense
Kuribo's shoe counts as an enemy, I think, since you can't spawn one without a Goomba already inside it.

Let's hope next year is a better showing for everyone.

I realized it wasn't even just Nintendo that was kind of disappointing. The most exciting thing Microsoft was a game collection, Sony's was all about a remake, and Nintendo just had spin-offs, and the South Park sequel was the only thing another company announced that made me personally excited.

Over all the hype level this year only shot up because of the Final Fantasy 7 remake though.
The new Doom was kind of hype for me.

Nintendo is going to win E3 next year, because they will be debuting new hardware. The company that debuts new hardware always wins, unless they don't show any compelling software during it's debut. I'm pretty confident that Nintendo will avoid that pitfall as I'm sure they have most of their teams working on games as we speak (it's either that or Nintendo doesn't want to talk about any of their upcoming Wii U games during E3.)

If I got to choose.

Characters
1. Chorus Kids (surprise surprise)
2. Pichu (another shocker :troll: )
3. Chibi-Robo
4. Wolf (even though I'm not the biggest fan, he does deserve to be back)

Stages
1. Fountain of Dreams
2. PokéFloats (maybe a new one)
3. Rhythm Heaven stage (could work similar to WarioWare)

So hard for me to choose between them. :urg:

But if I got to pick the ultimate result of stage DLC, this would be my dream setup. (and since Sakurai stated they can't add many more stages, I am going to dub this impossible and therefore assume Snake and Ice Climbers could also return alongside the 4 I mentioned because why not ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

64: Dreamland, Peach's Castle, Hyrule Castle, Saffron City, Sector Z, Mushroom Kingdom
Melee: Fountain of Dreams, PokéFloats, Fourside, Mute City, Great Bay, Yoshi's Story
Brawl: Pirate Ship, New Pork City, Summit, Shadow Moses Island, Frigate Orpheon, Spear Pillar
Wii U -> 3DS: Duck Hunt, Wii Fit Studio, Wuhu Island, Mario Galaxy, Wrecking Crew, Pilotwings
3DS -> Wii U: Magicant, Paper Mario, Pictochat 2, Gerudo Valley, Spirit Tracks, Rainbow Road
New Stages: Miiverse, Suzaku Castle, Rhythm Heaven, Dr. Mario, Nintendoland, Gyromite

So 30 DLC stages on each version. Way too many, I know. Hell, I didn't even take possible ballot character stages into account. But I can dream ヽ( ᐛ )ノ

I need to go make a visual mockup of this. Although, all I'll end up doing is making myself sad.

I just realised, from what little we got of Federation Force's story, it seems to match up with the bizarre narration of Brawl's Brinstar Remix.

Samus is under fire! She's sent an emergency directive. "join the fight!"

Now people will hate this song even more.

I'm not convinced that Nintendo will win next E3 even if they reveal the NX.

Let's not forget despite the Wii selling like hotcakes eventually? No one got it.

Wii U? No one got it. It's still underperforming.

Nintendo has a harder time revealing hardwire than Sony and Microsoft simply because they're not just doing ''WE'LL UP THE GRAPHICS, STORAGE, AND THROW IN A BLU-RAY. CALL IT A DAY."

Usually people throw ''gimmick" their way because they're taking the time to do some innovation or try different things.

I guarantee that if this exact remix, starting with that voice clip, was used when they showed off Federation Force people would have loved it.

The idea for federation Force HAS been around nintendo for 10 years. Oddly convenient.

I never realized that was a good song because I never played the stage.

So, exactly like this year.
Well that was useful...
Hey, at least their E3 next year will be better. Obviously.
Let's hope next year is a better showing for everyone.

Agreed. E3 2015, simply put, was meh. There were a few hype worthy things here and there, but nothing mind blowing like Twilight Princess on E3 2004, or the DS' reveal. All three companies did the best they could but it was just meh in general; EA and Ubisoft's conferences weren't that interesting imo.

As I said before (aka above), it's more than likely that they'll do better next year. Fans need to take this realistically and not be about wishful thinking; set your expectations low so that you don't get disappointed for expecting something big.
Nobody really knows what Microsoft and Sony will reveal next year; Nintendo will reveal the NX and possibly have a booth for it on E3 (I'm honestly expecting this to happen) with tech demos.

Though people shouldn't think it will replace Wii U when nobody really knows what it is. It could be a handheld with Wii U-esque power.

You don't seem to remember E3 2006. The Wii came out HOT. It was really funny, as the Sony and MS boths were being neglected while this happened:

The Wii U was because of a lack of compelling software, as I mentioned before.

Still, the NX alone won't win it for them. It's the games that really matter.
You could have the most powerful system there is; but if there isn't anything to play on it, then what's the point?

They need to come out swinging. At least 3 of their major franchises need to be visible immediately.

It won't be the most powerful system ever. I doubt it will match the PS4, honestly, but I hope that it is at least on par with the X box One... it will be a shame if it's not as it will likely be launching 4 years after it.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-06-17-next-proper-metroid-prime-would-likely-now-be-on-nx

Metroid Prime producer said the next Metroid Prime game, if he started development on it now, would be done in 2-3 years and would therefore likely be on the NX and not the Wii U.

Based on that statement alone It's pretty clear that it's the Wii U's successor.

I totally agree, why I never bothered with an xbox is cause the games.

That's not my point.
My point is if you don't have the great software to back up the hardware, then all it'll be doing is collecting dust.

So here's an interesting thing. Apparently in Triforce Heroes, the different Link's use different yells

Green=A Link Between Worlds
Red=Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask
Blue=Wind Waker

I was looking forward to see a new handheld, honestly; with the 3DS now being almost 5 years old. It's still getting games, so that's something.

I understand that, I was just using your statement as a transition point. In any case, E3 is not about actually making money or being successful. It's about hype. That's why "winning" E3 doesn't really matter... half the games we get hyped for end up terrible or in development hell. The easiest way to generate hype is with new hardware, so a company launching a new system already has a foot up on the competition.

They need to come out swinging. At least 3 of their major franchises need to be visible immediately.
I'm going to once again point out E3 2006. Nintendo knocked it out of the park with that one. It was the debut for the Wii, and while the majority of the talk concerned the motion controls and Wii Sports, Nintendo made sure to include a lot of traditional fair to appeal to the "hardcore" crowd.

Mario Galaxy debuted, and was viewed by many as a true successor to Mario 64 (the reception for Sunshine has softened over the year, but many gamers really disliked it at the time.) Twilight Princess was shown off and people loved both it and the use of motion controls in the game (I remember game journalists gushing over the fishing in particular.) Even Nintendo 'B' franchises were shown some love with Wario Ware Smooth Moves and Excite.

On the DS side of things, we got a new Star Fox (Command) and Zelda (Phantom Hour Glass) as well as a quirky rhythm game by the name of Elite Beat Agents.

To top it all off... we had the Smash Bros. Brawl reveal. That was an amazing moment. While Sony fans were scratching their head over "old" Snake in MGS4 Nintendo had the Snake everyone knew and love in their most popular fighting franchise.

The DS and the 3DS debut years were also really good.... if Nintendo can put together an event that's at least half as content filled as 2006 then I think they will walk away the show.

I suppose we can talk about smashified here, too.
So, they tweeted a hint for the next character:

As for the NX:
I see these being launch titles:
New mario( Mario galaxy 3?)
Smash Bros NX A supped up version of smash four with all dlc, both exclusive modes, a new melee styled adventure mode, ice climbers and one other character. More trophys and collectibles as well, and challenges.
Metroid
Fire Emblem
Pikmin 4
and maybe a pokemon game. Plus and minus? Which I don't see happening but would love if it was true and had secretly been ported to Wii U.

The other thing that makes me think it's a Wii U replacement is the fact that the 3DS is A.) still selling fairly well and B.) still getting tons of new quality games announced. Nintendo's home console situation could use a refresh since the Wii U doesn't have either of those things going for it.

The other thing to consider is that this new hardware might actually be a home/handheld hybrid of sorts. There were rumors of that a while back, and the X in NX could be code for a platform that is a "cross" of sorts.

i'm just curious, why this specific map?

also a mystery dungeon stage would be super cool. given its lack of content in brawl, 3ds, and wii u, though, i'm not entirely convinced that nintendo can put stuff in? i'm not trying to be a downer or anything. i just think it might be a similar situation to smrpg or something

With all the Shantae talk I've been seeing, I guess I'll pitch in. I've seen one detracting suggestion that she's too sexualized for the game. Note:

*While this IS fanart, it's probably not far off from what she'd look like.

We can assume that the reason Tharja's trophy got booted from the game was due to her being "too sexual" for an E10 game and that Nintendo was apparently very dedicated to maintaining that rating.

I think there's something key to note here: Shulk and Zero Suit Samus both show a lot of skin in specific palette swaps, yet it didn't drive up the rating. Palutena is apparently allowed to have panties (Sakurai bias pls) yet the game maintains it's rating.

I'm pretty sure the reason Tharja was cut has to do with Tharja being a more inherently sexualized character (in personality and attire) whereas costume design seems to be able to get away with a lot.

Hence, I don't think Shantae's design hurts her chances.

Capcom doesn't own Shantae. They only published the first game when it was initially released. The series is owned by Wayforward.

Shantae is not owned in anyway by Capcom. Capcom just happened to publish her debut game.

She's not Capcom, Capcom only published Shantae's GBC game, made by WayForward (they still make Shantae). After that, afaik she's been 100% digital.

Smash Bros. NX should simply be a better Smash 3DS/Wii U. 3DS/Wii U was definitely an improvement from Brawl; there's some things from Brawl that I miss though, but nonetheless, Smash 3DS/Wii U should be the base for a dream Smash NX.

I woulld like to see how can they do with the hybrid thing. It might be something cool, but eh. Just 6 months left. 2016 isn't far away.

Edited post to reflect that Capcom doesn't own her. Shouldn't actually have any licencing issues or fear of overrepresentation, then.
