and in other news who want to break the rules?
she sure does
I try very hard not to be negative, but sometimes it slips out.
I dearly love Portal, Outside of Nintendo it and Kingdom Hearts are my favorite Game franchises. Yet, I am sad to say that this trailer was very disappointing. No offense to Lego, but they completely mis-understand what makes Portal so great, the tight simple game play mixed with exquisite black comedy in a claustrophobic environment. Portal isn't just testing and Cake. I don't mind the idea of Portal being in Lego Dimensions (if it is handled well), but I am disappointed that the only Portal news we are getting at E3 is a relatively underwhelming add on to what is essentially a $90+ version of every other Lego game ever. I feel like Portal (and Doctor Who) deserve better then that.
I should add that I do like Figure to Life games (Disney Infinity and Amiibo) quite a bit, but I have been very disappointed with the preliminary information about the game-play (and pricing) of Lego Dimensions, specifically the practically identical structure it shares with every other Tell Tale Lego game.
My main source regarding game play is this excellent article:

I guess that was a little too of topic, sorry about that. If it helps any I feel like Nintendo does a great job of including other companies franchises (Sonic, Megaman, Etc.) in such a way that the source material is actually respected, not just added for brand recognition.
